Our Living Learning Communities Finding your niche on a large campus can be challenging. Living Learning Communities (LLC) offer you the instant benefit of living with others who share your interests or major. These communities are designed to be places where students easily make friends and excel academically. If you would like to join any of these communities, simply indicate this preference on your Housing Agreement (see page 24).

FOR FIRST TIME IN COLLEGE STUDENTS First Year Residents Succeeding Together (F.Y.R.S.T.) F.Y.R.S.T. helps students acclimate to the university in a fun and supportive environment. Participants can also take the required Freshmen Experience class right in the residence hall and have easy access to student and faculty mentors. Community service opportunities and a variety of programs and workshops enable students to meet one another, get involved in the University community, and gain important skills in and out of the classroom. This special community for first year students is located in Panther and Lakeview South Halls at the Modesto Maidique Campus and Bay Vista Housing at Biscayne Bay Campus.
