The NAIA Champions of Character program has established five core values that go well beyond the playing field to the daily decisions of our youth. These character values help young people — and those associated with their development — make good choices in all aspects of their life and reflect the true spirit of competition. Each student-athlete competing for Fisher College must stand true to the NAIA’s Five Core Values. These core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership are instrumental in the development of the athletes on the Fisher campus. The inteGrity of an athlete is the internal trait that guides behavior. The resPeCt of an athlete is based on treating others the way you want to be treated. To display resPonsiBility an athlete must abide by the social force that binds him/her to the good of the team. sPortsmAnshiP is shown through following the rules, spirit, and etiquette of athletic competition. Finally, to demonstrate servAnt leAdershiP a Fisher student-athlete must be serving the greater good while focusing on the team’s mission and purpose. To compete on the field or court at Fisher College, it is important for all coaches and players to understand and follow these guidelines set forth by the NAIA. Through building character it is evident Fisher will also build champions.
