CEREMONY & RECEPTION ROOMS The Great Hall: With dramatic rich red and wood panelling dating from the medieval age, this is the heart of the castle. It is a dramatic setting for a ceremony and ideal for drinks receptions. With easy access to the Castle’s front lawn, this room is perfect for ceremonies up to 100 guests The Library: A magnificent 40 foot high galleried room lined with over 6000 books and overlooking the River Esk with breathtaking views towards the Lakeland fells is perfect for up to 50 guests for a wedding ceremony The Drawing Room: Complete with a superb vaulted ceiling, large windows overlooking the lawns and a beautiful marble fireplace, this room seats up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast The Family Dining Room: Complete with 18th century marquetry and a superb recessed plasterwork ceiling, this room is ideal for an intimate ceremony for 50 guests or 40 guests for a wedding breakfast The Old Laundry: For evening parties located only a short stroll from the Castle in the main courtyard. The fully refurbished room complete with bar and dancing area is ideal for up to 100 guests. This room also benefits from use of the courtyard which is perfect for al-fresco dining on warm summer evenings If your wedding is particularly large or small we have other options available including the guard room and dining room for smaller weddings or a luxury marquee for larger celebrations. EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY Located in the heart of one of the best food producing regions in the country, our chefs are very fortunate to be able to source some of the finest possible ingredients for your wedding. Literally on our doorstep are some amazing meats, fruits and vegetables. Here at Muncaster we breed our own rare-breed pork and many of our fruit and vegetables are grown in the historic kitchen garden. Whether you choose a banquet, buffet, barbeque or bacon rolls, our chef ’s will ensure you enjoy food of the highest standard. We can also help you choose the finest wines and beverages to compliment the food and with some incredible local breweries and cider producers we can create a real taste of Cumbria for your big day.

GARDENS The family are happy for wedding parties to use the front lawn of the Castle for photographs and drinks receptions; with the Castle as an amazing backdrop you are sure to have some wonderful photographs. The terrace has spectacular views of the Lakeland fells and there are acres upon acres of trees, plants and shrubs which are free for your guests to explore and are there for your photographer to capture some unforgettable images for you to treasure. There is also our adventure playground and Meadow Vole Maze to keep the children entertained. ACCOMMODATION The Coachman’s Quarters are in the stable yard in the heart of the gardens. The 4* guest accommodation has ten bedrooms and can accommodate up to 28 people complete with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room, ideal for a wedding party weekend. Our memorable Cumbrian breakfast will be served in Creeping Kate’s Kitchen. We also have the Pennington Hotel in Ravenglass which is a top quality fully serviced 3* hotel which has 22 luxury rooms and is only 5 minutes drive from Muncaster. We also have a number of self catering cottages in Ravenglass which can accommodate another 30 guests.
