_xààxÜ yÜÉÅ exz|ÉÇtÄ W|ÜxvàÉÜ Daylight Savings I have never understood Daylight Savings. I mean, I know why it happens, but wouldn’t it just be easier to place the clocks half-way between the two time changes and call it a day? All this time “saving” is throwing me off. Thank God my blackberry keeps better track of the time than I do. Time seems to be flying! March!? Is it really March!?? I have successfully put off finishing my taxes for two months now… I don’t seem to have the option of procrastinating much longer. Grrr. As a small business owner taxes are not as easy as asking HR for mileage reports and expenditures and as a NON-math person, these reports are something I dread. 1 more month to complete… Yikes. I wasn’t sure what to write about this month and as I thought more and more about this idea of saving, I thought I would suggest a few ways to SAVE. Some of these are new ideas to me and some are tricks of the trade I have learned after many years working fashion shows… ENJOY!

SAVE your inexpensive jewelry: Don’t you hate how inexpensive jewelry metal turns color after a while? You find this fab piece that you think will convince everyone you spent hundreds, then after one wear, the “gold” or “silver” starts to turn dull and even a little green… You can SAVE your inexpensive jewelry by layering with a thin coat of clear spray paint before wearing! SAVE your cashmere: Despite what it says on the tag, cashmere is best washed by hand. SAVE your precious sweaters by drying it using a salad spinner, which releases excess water in seconds. SAVE your wardrobe from fly-aways: To stop angora or mohair from shedding, fold the garment and place it into a zip-top bag and freeze it for at least three hours. Problem solved, no more fly-away on the rest of your wardrobe! SAVE a garment from deodorant marks: Remove white deodorant marks from a garment by gently rubbing with the protective foam used on hangers against the fabric. This will remove the mark and won’t leave any fuzz from wiping. SAVE Cheap Hairspray: Cheap hairspray has its purpose! Use hairspray to remove a lipstick stain or to coat stockings to help keep them from snagging. Did you know that a TINY bit of hairspray can also keep you from slipping inside your shoes? SAVE yourself from blistered feet: All of us have had blistered feet from wearing new shoes. Break in stiff or too-snug shoes by slipping them on with socks and blasting your feet with a hot dryer.

_xààxÜ yÜÉÅ Xw|àÉÜ I want to dedicate this issue to our absolutely amazing Regional Director, Julie Fought. If it wasn’t for her, this issue would not have happened. I’ve been swamped this month with a lot of crazy things going on and without all of the great content she supplied…well...you wouldn’t be reading this right now. For those of you who have not had the opportunity, nay, privilege to work with Julie, then I highly recommend you volunteer to work an FGI committee, simply to get to know this extraordinary woman. Getting to know Julie will truly change your life. How someone can be successful, cheerful, dedicated, reliable, honorable AND fashionable all at the same time is beyond belief. If it’s in her drinking water then I want a case of that! So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Julie! You are a true leader, a great inspiration and the best thing that has ever happened to FGI San Diego! Have a fashionabulous month!!! Until next time…
