UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 1971. In 1981, Bradshaw was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship for “Laboratory of Neural and Endocrine Regulation” from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2001, he attended the Harvard Presidents’ Workshop on Fundraising, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) New Presidents’ Academy in 2002. Bradshaw’s career in academia includes a wide spectrum of educational posts including assistant professor of pharmacology at Florida A&M University/ VA Medical Center, instructor of physiology at the Wright State University School of Medicine in Ohio, and instructor at the University of Pittsburgh. Bradshaw is widely published in professional periodicals and journals. His contributions include published articles in USA Today, Florida Neuroendocrine Society and Science 194. In the research arena, Bradshaw has been granted more than one million dollars for academic study in several areas including math, science, computers and technology education; microbiology for health education; and neuroscience. He has been honored with several professional awards including the Spurgeon Award for career excellence, exceptional community service, and serving as role models for young people. He and his wife, Jo Anna, reside in Estero and have three adult sons.
