l Centenario della competizione: questo è quello che celebriamo con l’ISDE ad Olbia, in Sardegna. L’International Six Days’ Trial è stato il primo evento che la FIM ha omologato, 100 anni fa, nel 1913, e che si è svolto nel nord dell’Inghilterra. Da allora, sono intercorsi molti cambiamenti e tante delle regole al tempo in vigore sono state modificate, ma lo spirito è rimasto lo stesso di allora. Ora noi celebriamo il centenario della competizione in Sardegna, uno dei posti più belli d’Italia. Le competizioni per squadre nazionali rappresentano un ambito rilevante all’interno delle attività gestite dalla FIM. Si tratta di incontri di notevole rilievo nei calendari redatti annualmente. L’Enduro è particolarmente importante poiché è il più antico sport delle due ruote, alla base di tutti gli altri sport motociclistici nella storia. L’Italia è una nazione che ha tradizionalmente conseguito grandi successi nel corso delle edizioni della Sei Giorni di Enduro, ottenendo la prima vittoria nel 1930 e con una lunga serie di successi nelle categorie World Trophy e Junior World Trophy nel corso degli anni. L’evento che si terrà ad Olbia include la categoria Women’s Team, lanciata nel 2008, a testimoniare il considerevole lavoro fatto dalla FIM al fine di incrementare la partecipazione delle donne agli eventi motociclistici. L’edizione 2013 della Sei Giorni Internazionale di Enduro in Sardegna rappresenta un momento di grande importanza nel nostro sport, poiché si svolge in un anno di celebrazioni. Non ho dubbi che questa edizione dell’ISDE, svolta in un posto incantevole, sarà un grande successo. Voglio congratularmi con la Federazione Motociclistica Italiana e con tutte le persone che operano nell’organizzazione di questo evento, così come con gli spettatori che giocano un ruolo essenziale nel successo del nostro sport. Infine, auguro ai piloti, ai team e tutti i partecipanti una grande settimana di competizione.

centenary of competition: this is what we are celebrating during this ISDE event in Olbia, Sardinia. The ‘International Six Days’ Trial’ was the first ever event sanctioned by the FIM 100 years ago, in 1913, in the north of England. Many things have changed since then and the rules have gone through a major evolution, but the spirit has remained. And we celebrate this centenary in Sardinia, one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Competitions for national teams are an important element within the sporting activities managed by the FIM. They all are traditional meetings in every year’s calendar. Moreover, Enduro has a special significance as it is the oldest motorcycling sport, at the origin of all the other motorcycling sports in history. Italy is a country that has traditionally featured prominently in the history of the Six Days, with a first victory back in 1930. Italian teams have had a long series of wins in the World Trophy and Junior World Trophy over the years. This event in Olbia also includes the Women’s Team competition, launched in 2008. This development reflects the considerable work done by the FIM to advance women’s participation in motorcycle sport. The 2013 FIM International Six Days’ Enduro in Sardinia will be a very important moment in our sport, as we are in a year of celebration. I have no doubt that these ISDE, held in this beautiful place, will be a great success. I would like to congratulate the Italian Federation (FMI) and all the people involved in the organisation of this event, as well as all the spectators who play an essential role in the success of our sport. Last but not least, I wish the riders, the teams and all participants a great week of competition.

l sogno ambizioso diventato splendida realtà

Un saluto e un caloroso benvenuto agli oltre 630 partecipanti a questa 88.ma edizione della International Six Days of Enduro. Un evento di portata mondiale che festeggia i 100 anni e che vede ben 36 Nazioni rappresentate. Abbiamo voluto riportare in Italia questa vera Olimpiade della moto a sedici anni di distanza dall’ultima edizione di Brescia nel 1997. Un sogno ambizioso, un grande progetto che fin dall’inizio abbiamo voluto in Sardegna ed in particolare in Gallura, contando sulla tradizionale ospitalità locale, sull’efficace supporto logistico, sulla spettacolarità dei percorsi di gara ma, soprattutto, per offrire a questo evento così importante, paesaggi e località note in tutto il mondo per la loro suggestiva bellezza. Da tempo la Federazione Motociclistica Italiana ha messo in campo un’organizzazione complessa con centinaia di persone che lavorano sul campo, per rispettare le grandi tradizioni sportive ed organizzative che ci hanno sempre contraddistinto. Un sentito ringraziamento va alla Regione Sardegna e a Sardegna Sviluppo e Promozione per il loro grande supporto e la loro vicinanza, così come a tutte le Istituzioni Regionali e locali che stanno collaborando con grande impegno, ai Sindaci e alle Amministrazioni coinvolte nei percorsi di gara. Un ringraziamento sentito anche ai nostri Moto Club e a tutti coloro che, lavorando nell’ombra, hanno reso possibile che questo sogno sia diventato realtà. Per tutti, il miglior ringraziamento sarà comunque l’entusiastica e massiccia presenza degli appassionati che, sono sicuro, non mancheranno di dare un segnale tangibile della passione verso questo sport e questa splendida terra che ci accoglie.

warmly welcome the 630 participants to the 88th edition of the International Six Days of Enduro. A worldwide event celebrating 100 years and greeted by 36 Nations. We wanted the Olympics of the Motorbike to be hosted again in Italy, sixteen years after the 1997 edition held in Brescia. An ambitious dream, a great project which, since the very beginning, we strongly desired to be hosted in Sardinia, and especially in Gallura. We rely on the traditional hospitality of the locals, on the efficiency of the logistics and on the spectacular nature of the routes, so to offer to such an important event landscapes and places well known all over the world for their striking beauty. The Federazione Motociclistica Italiana has since long activated a complex organization with hundreds of people involved in order to confirm that the traditional sporting and organizational standards which we all care about are met, once again. We are extremely thankful to the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna and to the Agenzia Governativa Regionale Sardegna Promozione for their continuous support as well as grateful to the Mayors, local authorities and local bodies involved in the race. Our praise goes to our Moto Clubs and to all, working in the shadow, which have fulfilled our dream to arrange for this event. To all, however, our best praise will be the enthusiasm and the massive presence of the spectators which, I am sure, won’t be shy of showing their passion for this sport, hosted in a land of rare beauty, Sardinia.

n mese fa abbiamo salutato ad Arborea, con la tre giorni dedicata al Sardegna Endurance Lifestyle il ritorno sulla scena di uno dei simboli della nostra terra, il cavallo, un protagonista centrale nello stile di vita dei sardi ed espressione di una filiera da rilanciare in chiave turistica, ambientale, economica. Ora arriva un altro grande evento che vedrà la nostra isola raddoppiare la sua esposizione a livello internazionale. La Sardegna diventa, infatti, per sei giorni la capitale del motociclismo, con la disputa dell’International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) Campionato del Mondo Enduro a squadre Nazionali. All’edizione di qust’anno partecipano 600 piloti in rappresentanza di 36 nazioni, ma al di là dei numeri, pure importanti, la soddisfazione forse maggiore è rappresentata dalla location unica nella quale si disputano le gare. Sarà infatti la Gallura, dalle coste all’entroterra, dai boschi alle zone impervie con attraversamenti di rocce e corsi d’acqua a fare da sfondo di incommensurabile bellezza paesaggistico-ambientale. A questo si accompagna la certezza del successo della manifestazione grazie all’impegno degli amministratori e delle popolazioni dei dieci comuni coinvolti: Alà dei Sardi, Arzachena, Calangianus, Golfo Aranci, Loiri, Olbia, Padru, Sant’Antonio di Gallura, Telti, Tempio Pausania. month ago, thanks to the three days of celebration of the Sardegna Endurance Lifestyle held in Arborea, we have once again greeted one of the great symbols of our land, the horse, a central player in the lifestyle of Sardinians from a touristic, environmental and economical point of view. Now it is the turn of another great event, which is going to double the exposure of our land from an International perspective. Sardinia will be, indeed, the motorcycling capital for six days, thanks to the Enduro Championship for National Team, the International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE). 600 pilots representing 36 nations will take part in the competition, impressive numbers for sure but, most importantly, the race will be held in a unique location, Gallura. A scenery of immeasurable beauty from the coastline to the inland, from the forestry to the perilous paths crossed by rocks and water streams. I am certain of the success of this event thanks to the involvement of the Mayors and the people of the ten municipalities involved: Alà dei Sardi, Arzachena, Calangianus, Golfo Aranci, Loiri, Olbia, Padru, Sant’Antonio di Gallura, Telti, Tempio Pausania. Ten local communities which, I am sure, will be able to further the traditional hospitality and civic values which we share in Sardinia. traffic regulations Offroad riding in Gallura during the 2013 FIM ISDE

ooking at the 2013 FIM ISDE, FMI confirms the absolute prohibition of offroad driving in the Gallura area, in Sardinia, in order to ensure a safe execution of the Six Days. Dirt Gallura roads will be manned at their access points and will be accessible only to race riders and authorized staff. All this is to ensure the right execution of the event considering the small width of the roadway (mule tracks, single track) and, above all, to respect the anti fire risk rules. It is recommended to join race and Special Stages areas using the main paved roads, not offroad paths, even to avoid any incidents among professionals and technical staff. Any violator will be subject to the penalty imposed by law Finally, let’s participate to the 2013 FIM ISDE in Sardinia with the passion and excitement that only such a big event can inject.

a FMI conferma fin d’ora il divieto assoluto di percorrenza dei percorsi offroad nell’area della Gallura, Regione Sardegna, al fine di garantire un corretto e sicuro svolgimento della Sei Giorni di Enduro 2013 nell’ambito delle aree forestali. I percorsi sterrati della Gallura, a seguito di un accordo congiunto tra le Autorità di polizia locale, Corpo Forestale e di Vigilanza Ambientale, Polizia di Stato e Ente Foreste Sardegna, saranno presidiati nei varchi di accesso e la fruizione sarà garantita esclusivamente ai piloti in gara ed al personale addetto, che sarà riconoscibile. Tutto ciò per garantire il corretto svolgimento della manifestazione considerati i variabili sensi di marcia, l’esigua larghezza delle sedi stradali (mulattiere, tratturi, sentieri single track) e, soprattutto, per il rispetto delle norme del rischio anti incendio. Si raccomanda fin d’ora di dirigersi verso le zone di gara e le Prove Speciali utilizzando unicamente la viabilità principale asfaltata e di non avventurarsi in percorsi fuoristrada, al fine di evitare anche eventuali spiacevoli incidenti fra addetti ai lavori e personale tecnico all’opera per dirigere l’importante evento. Ai trasgressori verranno applicate le sanzioni di legge. Certi di poter contare su una reciproca collaborazione al fine di garantire il migliore svolgimento di tutta l’importante manifestazione, vi invitiamo a partecipare alla Sei Giorni di Enduro in Sardegna con la passione e l’entusiasmo che solo un evento di questa portata può trasmettere.

Ci saranno 630 piloti provenienti da tutto il mondo, in rappresentanza di 36 Paesi, senza contare poi i 140 Club Team presenti alla manifestazione. Numeri da record per quella che è l’edizione del centenario. Da tenere d’occhio ci sarà senza dubbio la Nazionale Italiana con Salvini fresco vincitore del mondiale E2, la Nazionale Francese, detentrice del titolo vinto lo scorso anno in Germania e fresca vincitrice del Mondiale di Enduro nelle classi E1 e E2, rispettivamente con Christophe Nambotin e Antoine Meo, e la squadra Australiana, giunta 2° l’anno scorso. Insieme a loro ci saranno come possibili favoriti la Finlandia, forte degli ottimi risultati ottenuti nel Mondiale 2013 in E1 da Matti Seistola e Eero Remes, e i padroni di casa, la squadra italiana, giunta terza nella scorsa edizione al Sachsenring. Un evento imperdibile, nel quale sono coinvolti in prima linea oltre ovviamente alla FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) e alla FMI (Federazione Motociclistica Italiana) enti quali la Regione Sardegna, le varie autorità locali, l’Ente forestale e Portuale, e una lunghissima serie di sponsor, partner e fornitori ufficiali: nomi come KTM, Ciao Sardinia, Sardinia Ferries e Europcar. E poi ancora Fiat Professional, Bardhal, Metzeler, Tiscali, Eicma, Airoh, Brema. La lista sarebbe ancora più lunga, a testimonianza di quanto sia grande l’importanza della manifestazione.

a Carlisle a Olbia il passo non è breve. Anzi, è lungo 100 anni. Tanti ne sono passati infatti da quando la piccola cittadina inglese ha dato il via alla Sei Giorni d’Enduro, l’Olimpiade della moto, evento unico nel suo genere che ogni anno, organizzato in un paese diverso, assegna il titolo di Campione del Mondo di Enduro a squadre Nazionali. Per festeggiare i suoi cento anni l’ISDE 2013 si è data appuntamento in un’isola estremamente suggestiva: la Sardegna, in particolare la regione della Gallura. Dal 30 settembre al 5 ottobre, infatti, tutti i piloti presenti al via si ritroveranno nel paddock di Olbia per dare vita ad un’edizione che si preannuncia molto interessante, a cominciare dalle località. In realtà l’appuntamento è fissato anche prima del 30 settembre, precisamente il 28, con la parata delle Nazioni che segna la Cerimonia d’apertura ufficiale della manifestazione. Da quel momento in poi tutti i piloti si daranno battaglia sui sentieri tracciati che toccheranno alcuni tra i più bei luoghi sardi. Nella manifestazione infatti sono coinvolti i maggiori comuni della Gallura, a cominciare da Olbia, sede del cuore della manifestazione, il paddock, situato nel molo Isola Bianca, proseguendo con Tempio Pausania e Golfo Aranci, e passando attraverso i suggestivi paesaggi di Alà dei Sardi, Arzachena, Calangianus, Lori Porto San Paolo, Padru, Sant’Antonio di Gallura e Telti.

Favourite for the final victory are the Italian team with the new world champion E2, Salvini, French Team, 2012 title holder and winner this year of the Enduro World Title in the E1 and E3 categories, with Christophe Nambotin and Antoine Meo respectively. Also favourites are the Australian Team, which got the second place last year and the Finnish Team, with excellent performances in the E1 category of the 2013 World Title with the pilots Matti Seistola and Eero Remes and, finally, the Italian home team, which got third in the 2012 edition. From the 30th September to the 5th October the pilots will join together in the Olbia’s paddock to start a truly interesting competition, held in many suggestive locations. The opening ceremony will be held the 28th September with a parade of the competing Nations, marking the Opening Ceremony. The rival teams will be challenged by tricky routes in a wonderful scenery hosted not just in Olbia, main hub for the competition, but also in Tempio Pausania and Golfo Aranci, through to Alà dei Sardi, Arzachena, Calangianus, Loiri Porto San Paolo, Padru, Sant’Antonio di Gallura and Telti. 630 competitors from all over the world, representing 36 countries, joined by 140 Club Teams will

aranno sei lunghe giornate di prove speciali e battaglie, per un totale di circa 1.500 km totali, che termineranno con il momento clou della manifestazione, l’Evento Finale di Cross a Tempio Pausania, nel crossdromo “Sergio Bruschi”. La finale di cross che decreterà la nazione vincitrice del 2013. I 630 piloti saranno al via suddivisi in gruppi di 40. Quindici manche avvincenti e combattute, otto giri, per un totale di circa venti minuti, nei quali ognuno cercherà di dare il meglio di sé, per arrivare poi alle tre finali delle classi regine, che saranno trasmesse in diretta televisiva, per dar modo a tutti di non perdere lo spettacolo della finale, al termine della quale solo una nazione potrà alzare al cielo l’ambito “World Trophy”. L’appuntamento è fissato: Olbia, 30 settembre. La lotta per conquistare il titolo del centenario è cominciata!

The 630 racers will be divided in 40 groups. A total of 15 challenging tests, eight rounds, for a total of twenty minutes, in which each racer will try his very best to get through to the three classes finals, which will be broadcasted live. At the end, only one nation will raise the World Throphy. Olbia, 30th September 2013: the date is set. The fight to attain the centenary title has only just begun!

Deny Philippaerts, 6° nel Mondiale E3 e vicecampione nella stessa classe agli Assoluti, arriva anche lui dalle ultime due Sei Giorni in Finlandia e Germania. I piloti italiani hanno esperienza e vanno forte: regaleranno grandi emozioni. Lo faranno anche i ragazzi dello Junior World Trophy. Gianluca Martini, Nicolò Mori, Rudy Moroni, Giacomo Redondi sono stati protagonisti di una grande “prestazione di squadra” già nel Mondiale E Junior, riuscendo a rendere l’Italia la nazione più presente nella top 12 della classifica finale. Redondi, in particolare, è arrivato 2° dietro all’australiano Matthew Phillips, mentre Moroni – a livello nazionale - si è aggiudicato il Titolo della E1 agli Assoluti. L’Italia in quanto a piloti non ha nulla da invidiare a nessuno, ma gli avversari di certo non mancano. Prima fra le rivali, la Francia che con Meo e Nambotin si è assicurata i Mondiali E1 ed E3 2013 e ha anche vinto quattro delle ultime cinque ISDE, lasciando alla Finlandia la Sei Giorni di casa. Occhio all’Australia, seconda l’anno scorso proprio davanti all’Italia, e agli Stai Uniti, terzi nel 2011 e ai piedi del podio l’anno scorso. Anche la Spagna, però, è forte sia a livello di Trofeo che di Junior Trophy. Uno spazio particolare per le donne. Quest’anno saranno sei le squadre nel FIM Women’s World Trophy e ci sarà anche la Maglia Azzurra: Cristina Marrocco, Paola Riverditi e Anna Sappino se la dovranno vedere con Australia, Canada, Francia, Svezia e Stati Uniti. Le transalpine hanno vinto le ultime cinque edizioni della Sei Giorni dedicata alle donne e, senza ombra di dubbio,saranno loro la squadra da battere.

Un Campione del Mondo in più per l’Italia della Sei Giorni. Il 7 settembre, a St. Flour (Francia), Alex Salvini ha vinto il Mondiale E2 dopo averlo dominato per tutta la durata della stagione, tanto da poterlo vincere nella prima giornata dell’ultimo Gran Premio. Sarà lui l’uomo di punta di una Maglia Azzurra che può contare su piloti di assoluto valore e che, con un Mondiale appena conquistato, avrà qualche certezza in più sotto l’aspetto mentale: meglio avere un Campione del Mondo affianco piuttosto che ritrovarselo fra gli avversari. E poi i piloti Maglia Azzurra – come detto – formano una squadra di tutto rispetto: Simone Albergoni è stato protagonista di una stagione in crescendo, chiudendo quattro volte nella top five nelle ultime sei giornate iridate e sfiorando il podio negli Assoluti d’Italia. Oscar Balletti, dal canto suo, in quanto a Sei Giorni ne sa qualcosa. Nel 2008 ha vinto l’Enduro Junior Trophy in Grecia, per poi prendere parte ad altre ISDE fino a quella dell’anno scorso in Germania. E nel Mondiale di quest’anno si è preso un bel 3° posto nel Day 2 dell’ E2 in Argentina. A World Champion for the Italian team in the Six Days. Saturday, 7th September, Alex Salvini has won the E2 World title in St. Flour (France), a competition he has mastered the whole season, and that he has conquered on the first day of the last Grand Prix. He is going to be the most prominent figure in a Maglia Azzurra Team which can also rely on prestigious pilots and with the psychological advantage of racing with the World Champion in the team. The Italian pilots deserve the utmost respect: Simone Albergoni has performed very well of lately, with four top five results in the last six days of the World Cup and ending up very close to the podium in the Assoluti d’Italia. Oscar Balletti is an experienced Six Days racer: he won the Enduro Junior Trophy in Greece in 2008 and took part in all the ISDE competitions until last year’s one in Germany. In this year’s World Cup he got third in Day2 of the E2 in Argentina. Manuel Monni is a competitive racer too, having won the Assoluti d’Italia in the E3 class this year, he experienced the Six Days challenge in 2010 in Mexico, and in 2012 as Enduro racer. Another skilled, although young, pilot is Thomas Oldrati who has won the Assoluti d’Italia E1 title this year and who took part in 2008 in the Junior World Trophy with Balletti and also raced in 2011 in Finland and in 2012 in Germany. Deny Philippaerts, who got sixth in the E3 World Cup and achieved the second place in the same class at the Assoluti d’Italia, also raced in the last two Six Days in Finland and Germany. The Italian pilots are experienced and strong, as well as the youngsters in the Junior World Trophy. This year the Italian Women team is going to compete with five Nations in the FIM Women’s World Trophy, with Cristina Marrocco, Paola Riverditi and Anna Sappino to challenge Australia, Canada, France, Sweden and United States. Negli anni 60 ci fu una nazione che più di tutte le altre impose il suo dominio sulla Sei Giorni, una nazione che avrebbe dominato in maniera quasi incontrastata tutto il decennio: la Germania Orientale. I Tedeschi dell’est conquistarono infatti per ben 7 volte il World Trophy in quegli anni, facendo pendere sempre di più la bilancia dei trionfi dalla parte dell’Europa dell’Est. Un trend quest’ultimo che continuò fino alla fine degli anni 70, con il dominio di un’ormai vecchia conoscenza, la Cecoslovacchia, interrotto nel 79 dalla squadra italiana, che si aggiudicò poi il World Trophy nelle tre edizioni seguenti. Gli anni 80 furono anni di grandi cambiamenti per la manifestazione. Il torneo infatti cambiò nome, passando nel 1981 all’attuale ISDE (International Six Days of Enduro) e nell’85 fu eliminato l’obbligo dell’univoca provenienza nazionale di macchine e piloti per il “World Trophy”. Il “Vaso d’Argento” venne così abolito e sostituito dal “Trofeo Junior”, riservato ai piloti con età inferiore a 23 anni. Periodo di cambiamenti e anche di vittorie svedesi ma soprattutto italiane, con i trionfi azzurri oltre che nel 79, 80 e 81 anche nell’89 e la “doppietta” World e Junior World Trophy dell’86. Il penultimo decennio è stato segnato dallo scontro tra Italia e Finlandia, vincitrici rispettivamente di

Carlisle, Regno Unito. Esattamente 100 anni fa sul suolo inglese nasceva la più antica competizione motociclistica del mondo. Le cose erano molto diverse da oggi. Il nome non era quello attuale. La corsa infatti si chiamava International Six Days Trial e in quella prima edizione a sfidarsi furono solo alcuni piloti britannici e tre francesi, con la vittoria che andò ai padroni di casa Charles Collier, Billy Little e W.B. Gibb. La partecipazione inizialmente era riservata a piloti delle nazionali su moto prodotte dal loro paese, una formula che limitava di parecchio il numero dei concorrenti, motivo per cui nel 1924 venne introdotto il “Vaso d’Argento”, nel quale potevano correre 4 piloti per nazione su moto provenienti anche da altri paesi. Dopo le prime vittorie della Svizzera, gli anni dal 1924 al 1929 furono di dominio Inglese, interrotti poi dalla prima vittoria italiana del 1930, subito bissata l’anno successivo nell’edizione casalinga di Merano. Fino all’ovvia interruzione a causa della seconda guerra mondiale, però, il Trofeo fu una lotta a due tra Inghilterra e Germania. Dopo la guerra, la competizione riprese nel 47 in Cecoslovacchia, e furono proprio i Cechi, tra lo stupore generale, a vincere per la prima volta la gara. Questa vittoria però non era stata casuale, sostenuti dalla loro industria, infatti, i Cechi ottennero numerosi trionfi negli anni 4050, trasformando la storia della Sei Giorni dell’epoca in una reale disputa tra Europa Est e Ovest, dove a rappre-

It was organized in a completely different way than it is nowadays, with a distinct name, the then International Six Days Trial, that first edition has only seen the participation of a few British pilots and three French racers, with the winners being the English Charles Collier, Billy Little e W.B. Gibb. At the time, the competition was limited to pilots racing on motorcycles produced in their own Country, which was a limitation for hopeful participants and for that reason, in 1924, the Silver Vase trophy was introduced, allowing the participation of four pilots per nation on motorbikes fabricated in foreign countries. Following a few victories from the Swiss team, the years between 1924 and 1929 witnessed the English predominance, with the first ever Italian victories in 1930 and 1931,

Up until the break, due to World War II, the challenge for the first place was mostly between England and Germany. The competition re-started in 1947 with the “surprising” victory of the former Czechoslovakia, a nation that thanks to the support of its industry could in fact represent the Eastern European alternative to the supremacy of England in Western Europe. The challenge between these two nations lasted throughout the end of 1950s. The decade of 1960 saw Eastern Germany as the main competitor, with 7 victories out of 10 editions and with more victories earned by an Eastern European competitor in the following decade. Czechoslovakia, in fact, won most competitions in those years up until the Italian victories in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Starting in 1981 the competition changed its name to become the current ISDE (International Six Days of Enduro). In 1985 the World Trophy’s rule of the same origin for pilots and motorbikes was abolished and the Silver Vase was thus replaced by the Junior Trophy for under-23 pilots. That decade saw a few Swedish victories but mostly Italian ones in 1979, 1980,1981, 1989 and the World and Junior World Trophy, both achieved in 1986. The 90s have been characterized by an Italian and Finnish “turnover” with 5 and 3 World Trophies won respectively and with the triumphant home editions, exemplified by the achievement of the World and Junior Trophy, in 1996 in Hämeenlinna for the Finnish team and in 1997 in Lumezzane for the Italian team. Nowadays, the challenge is between the United States, Italian, Finnish and French teams, with the last winner of the 2012 edition in Germany, all competing to try and win the centenary edition in Sardinia, Italy.

Un pezzo di storia della regolarità Per festeggiare i cento anni dalla prima edizione della Sei Giorni (1913), è stata organizzata un’esposizione storica presso il Museo Archeologico di Olbia che sarà aperta dal 26 settembre al 4 ottobre con ingresso libero. Pezzi unici di tecnica raffinata che rappresentano una pagina di storia davvero significativa dell’Enduro, o meglio della Regolarità. Una decina di moto con ancora addosso il fascino delle vittorie e che rimandano alle gesta dei campioni che le hanno portate alla vittoria sia nei mondiali che nelle varie edizioni della Sei Giorni. Un’occasione unica grazie alla disponibilità di prestigiosi collezionisti che in questo modo rendono omaggio alla storia della ISDE e raccontano un bel pezzo di cultura motociclistica Marca:

ono molto grato alla Federazione Motociclistica Italiana per aver proposto, alla Federazione Internazionale, la candidatura dell’Italia e la scelta della Sardegna ad ospitare l’edizione del centenario della “Six Days of Enduro 2013” che, peraltro, assegna il titolo di Campione del mondo di Enduro a squadre nazionali. Nel porgere il saluto della Regione Sardegna a tutti i partecipanti, sono certo che l’importante e leggendaria competizione motociclistica a squadre consentirà di prolungare la stagione turistica nella nostra Regione e darà modo, alle oltre 25mila persone attese per l’Evento, tra atleti di questa disciplina, campioni nazionali ed internazionali, piloti amatoriali ed accompagnatori, staff ed addetti ai lavori, provenienti da oltre 38 nazioni extraeuropee, di poter conoscere ed apprezzare l’armonia della natura incontaminata e del clima mite della nostra Isola. Gli ospiti potranno ammirare la bellezza dell’ambiente dei diversi paesaggi della Gallura, dove si realizza l’Evento, ricchi di storia, tradizioni e culture diverse, che si estende tra i Monti del Limbara e boschi di querce da sughero, tra paesaggi di rocce granitiche, patrimonio archeologico e spiagge uniche che si affacciano sul mare cristallino ed incantevole. L’Agenzia Regionale SARDEGNA PROMOZIONE ha scelto di contribuire all’organizzazione e promozione di questo importante evento internazionale di alto livello, quale unico partner istituzionale, con l’obiettivo di contribuire alla destagionalizzazione con un caloroso messaggio di ospitalità ed un invito a venire in Sardegna anche nei mesi autunnali, che verrà rivolto ai milioni di telespettatori che seguiranno la manifestazione sui principali canali sportivi europei e web tv di settore di tutto il mondo. La zona di Alà è sempre stata intensamente popolata sin da epoche antichissime, come indicano i monumenti e i villaggi nuragici immersi nella fitta vegetazione. In epoca romana, nell’area dell’abitato sorse probabilmente un presidio militare. Nel Medio Evo fece parte del Giudicato di Torres. Di grande interesse è il complesso archeologico di Sos Nurattolos che comprende una fonte sacra, un piccolo tempio “a megaron” e alcune capanne. L’economia è tipicamente agropastorale, con alcuni comparti artigiani in forte crescita, come la lavorazione del sughero e del granito, il rivestimento in pietra da campo di abitazioni. Particolarmente rinomate sono le carni bovine selezionate, la produzione di miele e le specialità della cucina locale. La comunità alaese, laboriosa, ospitale e socievole, guarda con forte interesse alla Sei Giorni.

Il nucleo abitato sorge sull’altopiano omonimo, ai piedi della catena dei Monti di Alà, a circa 700 metri sul livello del mare. Predominano le rocce granitiche dalle forme bizzarre e i boschi secolari, che si alternano ai verdi pascoli e alla macchia mediterranea. Spesso si possono distinguere sul tronco delle querce le tracce dell’ultima raccolta del sughero mentre, guardando dall’altopiano si scorge l’inconfondibile sagoma dell’isola di Tavolara. Il paese sorge in un’area pianeggiante al centro di un territorio collinare quanto mai vario e spettacolare, caratterizzato da boschi di lecci, querce da sughero, roverella, ginepro e corbezzolo. Il centro storico, caratterizzato da vicoli stretti e tortuosi, risale al 1600 e lungo le strade, ma anche dentro qualche casa, esistono pozzi più o meno profondi. L’atmosfera del passato si ritrova negli austeri palazzetti in granito impreziositi da armoniosi balconi. Meritano una visita le chiese e i santuari, imperdibile lo spettacolo delle foreste

The magic of an open-air museum

he territory of Alà dei Sardi presents all the varieties of protosardinians monuments, such as dolmens, “giants’ tombs” and nuraghi. The town is located at the foot of the Monti di Alà, roughly 700 meters above sea-level. Granitic rocks and forests hundreds of years old are predominant, with green fields and mediterranean shrubs also present. While the cork oaks are vital for the local economy, the Island of Tavolara can be spotted from the highland. The town, characterized by forests of holly oaks, cork oaks, junipers and corbezzolo, is located in a spectacular valley. The old town, founded in the 17th century, is defined by winding alleys and wells. While churches and sanctuaries along with forests are worth a visit, the nuraghi villages are a testimony of the fact that Alà has been populated since the old age. During the Roman Empire, Alà was a military barrack and during the Middle Age, it was part of the Giudicato di Torres. Sos Nurattolos is an extremely interesting archeological complex, which comprises a sacred spring, a little “megaron” temple and a few huts. Nowadays, the local economy relies on agricolture and livestock, with an increase in the oak and granite production. Renowned are the bovine meat and the honey produced locally. The Mayor of Alà dei Sardi, Mario Carta has declared:”Our people look favorably to the growth of organizations involved in the development of our territory and the Moto Club Alà dei Sardi has declared a strong interest in the Six Days of Enduro. The traditional sense of hospitality of the community and the work of the local authorities represent a perfect synergy of intent toward the success of the event”.

Arzachena: tra la moderna eccellenza turistica e l’orgoglio di radici antiche

rzachena, surrounded by Mediterranean shrub, rocks and lovely beaches, includes the famous Costa Smeralda. Its main strength is the variety of archeological routes, located inside an eight sites park wich testify the chronology of different epochs, from the Middle Neolithic to the final Bronze Age. The “Arzachena’s Culture” (end of 4th – start of the 3rd millennium B.C.) is epitomized by countless nuragic monuments. La Prisgiona, unique in the North Eastern Sardinia area, is one such example. The village surrounds the Nuraghe, with almost ninety sheds, to witness an intense commercial activity much ample than the “familiar” one supposed so far. During the Roman Empire, the current Arzachena was known as Turibulum Minor and, up until the nineteenth century, it was composed of a few houses located around the Church of Santa Maria, Madonna della Neve. In the 18th century the area was inhabited by farmers originally from Corsica. In March 1962 a group of investors led by the Prince Karim Aga Khan, created the Consorzio Costa Smeralda, with a view to develop a touristic area in Arzachena, from Liscia Ruja to Liscia di Vacca. This has led to an economical boom which has profoundly changed the lives and the economy of the people, who still proud themselves in the ancient roots of this community. The whole population of Arzachena amount to 14.000 inhabitants. The Mayor, Alberto Ragnedda, has talked about the Six Days in enthusiastic terms by declaring:”This prestigious event held in Gallura will help us develop and further the touristic season. Our territory combines the appeal of the Costa Smeralda with a millenary tradition.”

ra più affascinante un paesaggio di rara bellezza. La novità del parco è il complesso nuragico di La Prisgiona che, per estensione e tipologia, non ha eguali nel Nord Est della Sardegna. Attorno al nuraghe si estende il villaggio che conta circa una novantina di capanne fra le quali s’intersecano viottoli lastricati. Un isolato, composto di un insieme di cinque capanne, ha rivelato lo svolgersi di attività artigianali specifiche che hanno consentito di ricomporre un quadro organizzativo della produzione su scala più ampia rispetto a quella sino ad ora ipotizzata. L’attuale Arzachena, durante l’Impero Romano, si chiamava Turibulum Minor e, fino all’Ottocento, era soltanto un gruppo di case intorno alla chiesa di Santa Maria, dedicata alla Madonna della Neve. Il popolamento definitivo si ebbe nel 1700 quando ci furono i primi stanziamenti di pastori provenienti dalla Corsica. Nel marzo 1962 un ristretto gruppo di finanzieri internazionali, facente capo al principe Karim Aga Khan, creò il Consorzio Costa Smeralda con lo scopo di sviluppare turisticamente una vasta area del Comune, da Liscia Ruja a Liscia di Vacca. Sui terreni interessati sono state realizzate strutture ricettive e residenziali pregevoli; tutta la zona è diventata un polo di attrazione famoso in tutto il mondo. Arzachena è oggi il punto d’incontro tra la modernità dell’eccellenza turistica e l’orgoglio delle antichissime radici. Oggi Arzachena conta 14.000 abitanti, con quelli residenti nelle varie frazioni, tra cui le principali sono Cannigione, Baja Sardinia e Porto Cervo.

Cork’s hub, nature’s jewel and history’s chest

alangianus, 518 meters above sea-level, is wellknown worldwide for the production and manufacturing of cork. The town, near the Mount Limbara, is located in a wide valley surrounded by granitic mounts, largely wooded. The old town is characterized by narrow and irregular roads. The Cork Museum recap 150 years of history of the town. A peculiar “taste route” is expressed by the wine cellars. The most spectacular itenary are the old railway route or the visit to the churches and to the vast archeological heritage. Trails of the nuragic man were found in Monti Biancu and Li Conchi, dating back 2000 years B.C. The Nuraghi Agnu, Monti di Deu and Laicheddu all belong to the Bronze Age (between 1500 and 1000 years B.C.) and also two megaliths, The Tomba dei Giganti and Funtana di li Paladini. Traditionally, the people from Calangianus used to live nearer the Sea, close to the river Liscia but, due to the assaults of pirates, they moved to the current site, founding the town in the 16th century. During the Middle Age, the town belonged to the Giudicato di Gallura, then to the Arborea and the Aragonese up until the end of the 17th century. After that plenty of churches were built, under Fadriguez-Fernandez, to testify the resurgence of the population in this land, the main activities being agriculture and sheep farming up until the start of the 18th century when a group of French invested on the cork oaks. According to the Mayor, Gio Martino Loddo: ”Calangianus will be able to manage such an important event by organizing guided tours to archeological sites, sacred sites and all the most important attractions of our land, hearth of the wonderful Gallura”.

che, in origine, i calangianesi popolassero le coste in prossimità del fiume Liscia, a più di 50 km dall’attuale collocazione. Ma, intorno al 1500, per sfuggire alle scorribande dei pirati, si allontanarono dal mare per rifugiarsi nell’entroterra, dando vita a Calangianus. Nel Medioevo il borgo era incluso nel giudicato di Gallura; dopo il crollo giudicale passò agli arborensi e agli aragonesi fino alla fine del XVII secolo, periodo in cui fu assorbito dal feudo di Fadriguez-Fernandez. Le numerose chiese che sorsero nel paese e nelle campagne, specie nella seconda metà del ‘700, sono la prova evidente del forte ripopolamento di queste terre. Le attività produttive rimasero l’agricoltura e la pastorizia fino agli inizi dell’Ottocento quando alcuni imprenditori francesi si stabilirono in paese trasformando le fitte sugherete dell’Alta Gallura in un’enorme fonte di ricchezza sostenibile. L’attività divenne ben presto redditizia e gran parte della popolazione si dedicò all’estrazione e alla trasformazione del sughero.

Il centro storico di Calangianus, impreziosito da piazze e chiese, è caratterizzato da piccole vie, strette e irregolari. Il Museo del Sughero offre un quadro completo dei 150 anni di storia dell’attività che ha portato nel mondo il nome di Calangianus. Altra bella realtà, sempre più apprezzata a livello internazionale, è quella delle cantine vinicole, inserite in un godibilissimo percorso del gusto. Gli itinerari culturali-ambientali più spettacolari includono il percorso dell’antica ferrovia e dei vecchi tratturi sul Limbara tra panorami magnifici che spaziano tra montagne e mare. Altrettanto emozionante è la visita alle belle chiese, sia nel centro storico sia nelle campagne, e al vasto patrimonio archeologico. Risale al 2000 a.C. la presenza dell’uomo nuragico nelle grotte di Monti Biancu e Li Conchi. All’età del Bronzo appartengono i nuraghe Agnu, Monti di Deu e Laicheddhu. Golfo Aranci: una natura mozzafiato come cornice della Sei Giorni

organizzatori. Gli abitanti non vedono l’ora di accogliere la Sei Giorni e intendono farlo nel modo migliore. Come amministrazione comunale siamo fortemente proiettati sul turismo cercando però di valorizzare al massimo le caratteristiche del paese, la sua identità e le sue radici. Il punto più lontano dal mare dista 500 metri; i fondali sono spettacolari per gli amanti delle immersioni. Tutti potranno godere, oltre che della fantastica natura che ha benedetto questi luoghi, dell’ottimo pesce e della grande ospitalità dei golfarancini”.

olfo Aranci è un antico borgo di pescatori incastonato in panorami mozzafiato. La parte estrema è il promontorio di Capo Figari, un immenso habitat di flora e fauna con una natura tipica della macchia mediterranea. L’arco costiero è caratterizzato da alte falesie a picco sul mare e da un susseguirsi di spiagge bianchissime, piccole insenature e grotte. Dalla sommità del monte si percorre il sentiero che conduce al Faro dove, nel 1928, Guglielmo Marconi inaugurò il ponte radio e la centrale amplificatrice di Cala Spada. Lo scenario è quello di un museo naturale all’aria aperta: dalle isole di Figarolo e Tavolara alle isolette di Mortorio e Soffi con la Costa Smeralda sullo sfondo. Fra il verde dei ginepri si scorgono le acque cristalline di Cala Greca e Cala Moresca. Il territorio era frequentato sin dall’età nuragica e una testimonianza concreta è l’esistenza del pozzo sacro di Milis nei pressi della stazione ferroviaria. Inoltre nelle acque di Cala Moresca sono stati rinvenuti reperti subacquei databili presumibilmente dal III secolo a.C. . Vivamente consigliata è una visita al MuMArt, il primo museo d’arte contemporanea sottomarino al mondo inaugurato quest’anno. Erano i primi del ‘900 quando questa meravigliosa lingua di terra in mezzo al mare fu adocchiata da pescatori di tutto il Tirreno. Arrivarono in particolare dalle isole di Ponza e Ventotene, e non se ne andarono più. Il paese, che dista pochi chilometri da Olbia e Porto Rotondo, conserva le proprie tradizioni. A sud di Capo Figari si trova Cala Greca, luogo molto suggestivo che ospita un piccolo cimitero denominato “degli inglesi”. Golfo Aranci si affaccia sul mare e può vantare spiagge caratterizzate da sabbia bianca finissima e da un mare color smeraldo. Capo Figari è un’area naturale protetta; si accede a piedi e si arriva alla splendida spiaggia di Cala Moresca, una piccola baia immersa nella pineta.

A breathtaking nature as background to the Six Days

olfo Aranci is an ancient village of fishermen nestled between land, sea and a breathtaking scenery. Capo Figari is collocated at the end of the promontory and filled by a colourful nature rich in typical Mediterranean shrub scents. The coastline is characterized by high cliffs and white-sand beaches, small bays and coves. From the peak of the mount a path will lead the visitor to the lighthouse where, back in 1928, Guglielmo Marconi inaugurated the radio link and the audio amplifier of Cala Spada. The wonderful scenery stretches from the islands of Figarolo and Tavolara to the isles of Mortorio and Soffi with a view of the Costa Smeralda close by. The crystal clear waters of Cala Greca and Cala Moresca surround the green junipers. The sacred well of Milis is the testimony of an ancient civilization that dates back to the nuragic era. Furthermore, close to Cala Moresca underwater artefacts that dates back to the Third Century B.C. have been discovered. Fishermen from all over the Tyrrhenian Sae, especially from Ponza and Ventotene, have arrived here in the early years of the twentieth century to never leave. The town, only a short distance from Olbia and Porto Rotondo, still keeps its traditions alive. Cala Greca, south from Capo Figari, hosts a small cemetery called “the English Cemetery”. Golfo Aranci is surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches and emerald sea water. Capo Figari promontory is an ecological preserved area which can be reached by foot up until the beach of Cala Moresca, a small bay surrounded by a pine forest. We also strongly recommend visiting MuMArt, the recently inaugurated underwater museum of contemporary art. Numerose frazioni, sia rurali che costiere, sono disseminate attorno ai due borghi principali di Loiri, sede del Municipio, e di Porto San Paolo dalla forte vocazione turistica. Centri balneari rinomati sono quelli di Costa Dorata e Porto Taverna. Tra le frazioni principali rivestono particolare interesse: Santa Giusta, Azzanì, Enas, Trudda, Montilittu, Zappallì, Vaccileddi e Monti Pitrosu. Il territorio comunale condivide, insieme a Olbia e San Teodoro, un tesoro naturalistico inestimabile: l’Area Marina Protetta di Tavolara Capo Coda Cavallo. The double fascination of a special town

double fascination for Loiri-Porto San Paolo, as it links two towns, both attractive but extremely different. Loiri is a tranquil place in the countryside, characterized by low hills at a 15-km distance from the sea, while Porto San Paolo is a seaward touristic village. Still, the two towns share a common cultural identity. First inhabited in the Neolithic era, people in the nuragic or roman times have occupied this area. Between the 17th century and the first half of the 20th century, the whole of Gallura has seen the growth the Civilization of the Stazzi, typical rural houses of an agriculture and farming based economy. Several small villages surround the two main towns in the area: close to the sea, we can find Costa Dorata and Porto Taverna, while other places of interests are Santa Giusta, Azzanì, Enas, Trudda, Montilittu, Zappallì, Vaccileddi e Monti Pitrosu. This municipality shares with Olbia and San Teodoro the guidance of the natural preserved area of Tavolara Capo Coda Cavallo. Adagiata in una piana, lungo la costa nord orientale dell’isola, ai bordi di un profondo e vasto porto naturale e, alle sue spalle, un incantevole anfiteatro di colline che degradano fino alla costa. Giungendo dal mare, il panorama colpisce per la sua bellezza; verso sud la sagoma imponente e maestosa di Tavolara, l’isola chiamata dagli antichi Romani “Hermaea” in omaggio al dio del commercio e dei naviganti. Il porto, riparato e protetto il più vicino alle coste della penisola, ha sempre avuto un ruolo fondamentale nell’avvincente storia di Olbia, città tra le più antiche del Mediterraneo. Gli studiosi continuano a fornire particolari inediti sui popoli che, nell’arco di 2.800 anni, hanno lasciato tracce sul territorio olbiese. Monumenti, reperti e frammenti, recuperati, documentano l’età nuragica, l’insediamento dei Fenici, quello più consistente dei Greci (fondatori di Olbia, secondo il mito con Iolao, nel VII sec. A.C.), la dominazione Cartaginese, quella Romana e l’arrivo dei Vandali che, a Olbia, anticiparono il Medioevo. Oggi il suo vivace centro storico è molto attrattivo anche per gli amanti dello shopping, della buona cucina e della vita notturna. Le coste di Olbia si estendono per un centinaio di chilometri; arenili, scogliere, calette, stagni e piccole lagune si alternano dando vita a scenari spettacolari. It’s an exceptional occasion given to Olbia and the main region of Gallura to show our beautiful landscape. In order to do so, the event organizers from the FMI can avail of our technical team who, jointly with the councillors in charge, are maximizing the efforts to make this a successful event. The synergy between us is required in order to handle a complex initiative in a vast territory and that stretches along a considerable amount of time. The response from the tourist operators couldn’t be more optimistic, as they will be able to benefit from an extension of the visitors flow to the area. The Enduro and offroad enthusiasts can thus visit Sardinia, a land rich in history. The Old Greeks used to call it “Olbìa”, which means the “The Joyful City”. Located in a valley, along the north eastern coast of the island, at the edge of a vast natural harbour, the city is surrounded by high hills which gently decline to the rocky coast. The view from the sea is magnificent as Tavalora, the calcareous island, appears in the South with his 500 meters of height; Tavolara was called “Hermaea” by the Old Romans in homage to the god of commerce and sailors. The harbour of Olbia, protected by the winds, is the closest to the Italian peninsula, and has witnessed the engaging history of people passing by this ancient city for over 2800 years.

l comune di Padru, prevalentemente collinoso e montuoso, offre paesaggi fiabeschi sia verso il mare sia verso l’entroterra selvaggio e incontaminato. Una straordinaria posizione geografica lo colloca a pochi chilometri da rinomate località balneari e dalla Costa Smeralda, collegate da strade rapide e sicure. Questo ha sicuramente favorito il costante sviluppo del paese, vivace e dinamico, e del suo vasto comprensorio. Per le loro singolari caratteristiche meritano una visita le chiese, i santuari, i borghi e gli stazzi dove sono nati i primi insediamenti (Badde Vera, Badu Andria, Poltolu). Vi sorprenderà Pedra Bianca, un piccolo villaggio settecentesco tra i più pittoreschi di tutta l’isola, arroccato su cime che si affacciano su una valle incantevole. I tetti rossi delle vecchie abitazioni costruite in granito senza intonaco, spuntano tra rocce e gruppi di lecci, cisti, rovi e corbezzoli. Dalla località, definita “il tetto pietroso” della Sardegna, si può ammirare un panorama mozzafiato a 360 gradi. Partendo dalla cima del Monte Nieddu, la montagna sul mare più alta di tutta la regione, lo sguardo arriva fino alla Corsica. Un sito di grande interesse archeologico è quello di Santu Miali, all’interno di una fertile vallata ricca di boschi. Qui sono stati rinvenuti i resti di una villa romana, una necropoli e due chiese medievali. Altri tesori del territorio padrese: un piccolo paradiso dominato da canyon e cascate spettacolari e il grande compendio forestale con bellissimi camminamenti e sentieri. Suggestivo lo scenario della Valle del Lerno con i magnifici percorsi resi ancor più complicati da fiumi, rocce, radici e sabbia: posti ideali per l’Enduro. Molto diffusi sono gli agriturismi dove è possibile assaporare le specialità della cucina locale particolarmente gustose e genuine. In continua espansione la viticoltura, impreziosita da uno squisito Aleatico, sempre più raro in Sardegna. L’amministrazione comunale, sensibile e dinamica anche sotto questo aspetto, organizza numerose manifestazioni d’interesse culturale e artistico, come la Biennale di Pittura che, quest’anno, è dedicata alla Sardegna e alle Isole Canarie.

he Municipality of Padru, mostly hilly and mountainous, hosts fabolous landscape both toward the sea and toward the wild inland. Located close by the prestigious Costa Smeralda, its churches, villages and sanctuaries are worth a visit. Pedra Bianca will surprise the visitors; it’s an ancient village located at the peak of a mountain, with a panoramic view on a fascinating valley. A view from the peak of the Monte Nieddu, allows to spot the Island of Corsica. Santu Miali is an archeological site, located within a woody valley, where ruins of an roman villa, a necropolis and two Medieval Churches have been found. Other tourists sites are a valley characterized by a canyon and waterfalls (38m of height) and the forest reserve with enchanting paths. Ideal for enduro enthusiasts, the Valle del Lerno has sandy, rocky paths surrounded by rivers. The cork oaks create a mysterious atmosphere, while widespread are the agritourisms with their exquisite cookery specialties. The ever expanding viticulture produces a rare Aleatico. The municipality has organized several cultural and artistic exhibitions, such as the Biennale di Pittura, which this year has been dedicated to Sardinia and the Canary Islands. Sant’Antonio di Gallura: un gioiello incastonato tra i monti e il mare

Feste religiose e profane si celebrano in diverse chiese campestri che vantano storie antiche nel segno della devozione popolare: da San Santino a San Giacomo, percorrendo scenari mozzafiato, fino a San Leonardo passando per l’Immacolata della Crucitta. Spettacolare ed emozionante è il grande Lago del Liscia, nato negli anni ‘60, dopo la costruzione della diga sull’omonimo fiume, tra i comuni di Sant’Antonio di Gallura, Luras, Arzachena, Luogosanto e Calangianus. Il lago, oggi meta preferita degli escursionisti, si articola in canali e isolotti ed è caratterizzato da sponde sabbiose. L’economia del paese è basata sull’agricoltura, l’allevamento, l’apicoltura, la lavorazione del granito e del sughero.

ant’Antonio è un tipico centro gallurese, a metà strada tra i monti del Limbara e il mare. Il territorio è composto da profonde vallate ricoperte da pascoli, macchia mediterranea e boschi di querce. Le alture sono dominate da vecchi stazzi e lungo i tracciati millenari, tra foreste e vigneti, emergono monumentali ammassi granitici. La Chiesa di Sant’Andrea è la più importante: vanta una storia antica attestata dal rinvenimento, all’interno dell’edificio sacro, di tombe e anelli in oro. Rappresenta il fulcro del borgo medievale, denominato Villa di Castro, nucleo originario dell’attuale paese. Al visitatore si consiglia un itinerario lungo il centro storico, impreziosito dai caratteristici palazzetti in granito e da alcune chiese di notevole interesse artistico, tra cui quella di Sant’Antonio Abate. Molto suggestivo anche il sentiero che porta sino al belvedere di “Lu Naracu”, luogo ideale per ammirare la vegetazione rigogliosa e le grandi rocce dalle mille forme. Tra le meraviglie dei dintorni: i bellissimi boschi di lecci ricchi di funghi, il vallone del rio Fasciolu, i monti Caprureddu, Pulticoli e Lu Dragone. A pochi chilometri dal centro abitato c’è la vetta del Monte Santo, riconoscibile per la colorazione rosa del granito e per la macchia lussureggiante con boschi di cisto, corbezzolo, lentisco, pero selvatico e olivastro. Questo è il regno di volpi, donnole, lepri, cinghiali e gatti selvatici. Tra gli itinerari più significativi rientra la muraglia prenuragica di Sarra d’Aglientu.

Sant’Antonio di Gallura: a jewel between mounts and sea

ant’Antonio is a typical gallurese town, middle way between the Limbara mount and the sea. Deep valleys, Mediterranean shrubs and oaks are part of the territory which, nowadays, is dominated by old stazzi and monumental granitic rocks. The Sant’Andrea church is one of the oldest, as part of the Middle Age town, named “Villa di Castro”. Several granitic palazzetti, along with churches of the likes of Sant’Antonio Abate, will welcome the visitors. The path that leads to the belvedere “Lu Naracu” is interesting too, in order to appreciate the luxuriant vegetation. Close by the town, Monte Santo is easily recognizable for its pink granites and for the Mediterranean shrub, ideal for foxes, weasels, hares, wild boars and cats. Suggestive is the itinerary that comprises the Sarra D’Aglientu pre-nuragic wall. San Santino and San Giacomo are rural churches which host, likewise San Leonardo and the Immacolata della Crucitta, numerous celebrations both religious and secular. The artificial lake Liscia, created in 1960 in the area of Sant’Antonio di Gallura, Luras, Arzachena, Luogosanto and Calangianus, is composed by plenty of lakes and isles with sandy banks. The town relies, from an economical point of view, on agriculture, farming, beekeeping, granite and cork workings. no la frequentazione del territorio di Telti fin dall’epoca Neolitica. Appartengono invece all’Età del Rame diverse domus de janas, sepolcri preistorici scavati nella roccia. In località Aratena si può visitare il nuraghe la “Prexona di Siana” e in località Putzolu il nuraghe omonimo. Nel corso degli anni gli archeologi hanno riportato alla luce anche reperti di età romana, bizantina e giudicale.

elti è un paese molto antico. Il nome, infatti, deriva dal latino Tertium in quanto il villaggio è ubicato all’altezza di una biforcazione di due strade romane per Olbia e per Tempio. Immerso nel verde, gode di un eccezionale patrimonio naturalistico, enogastronomico e di tradizioni popolari. Situato a ridosso della piana di Olbia e alle falde orientali del Monte Limbara, il territorio è caratterizzato da colline ricoperte da boschi e pascoli, mentre i massi granitici erosi dal vento, tipici della Gallura, dominano il paesaggio. La zona è ricca di sorgenti e torrenti che rendono particolarmente fitta e rigogliosa la vegetazione. Vittoria è il cuore del paese: da qui ha preso forma il nucleo abitativo di Telti, di cui in passato faceva parte anche la chiesa di S. Anatolia, risalente al XVIII secolo. Rimanendo in tema, merita una visita la Chiesa campestre di San Bachisio nelle vicinanze di un antico cimitero. Between enchanting landscapes and ancient traditions

elti is an ancient town. The old name, Tertium, originates from the the fact that the town was in the middle of two roads for Olbia and Tempio built by the Ancient Romans. The current town is situated next to the valley of Olbia and East to the Mount Limbara, surrounded by forests and granitic rocks. The abundance of water flows produces a luxuriant vegetation and especially Monte Pino witness the presence of myrtle and corbezzolo. The old town of Telti is built around the Cathedral square, realized with granitic rocks and embellished by murales. The Church of Santa Vittoria is the hearth of the town, in here Telti originated, including in the past the Santa Anatolia’s Church too. The rural Church of San Bachisio is worth a visit. The Cultural and Naturalistic Museum is hosted in the old town inside a typical stazzo gallurese. empio Pausania, una storia antichissima che trae le sue origini sin dal Neolitico come testimonia la presenza sul territorio di circoli megalitici, dolmen e nuraghi. Sin dalla sua nascita la città della Gallura assume il ruolo di città-guida per tutti i paesi dell’entroterra gallurese. Nel periodo romano vi sorgeva il centro di “Gemellae” mentre il nome “Templum” appare per la prima volta in un documento ecclesiastico del 1173. Nel 1300 la città di Tempio è indicata con il nome di Villa Templi, capoluogo della Curatoria di Gemini - una delle divisioni amministrative del Giudicato di Gallura - e nel 1506, grazie all’accorpamento delle diocesi di Civita e Ampurias, diviene sede vescovile. Nel 1837 il re Carlo Alberto di Savoia concede a Tempio, ormai capoluogo di una vasta provincia e sede di Prefettura, gli onori di Municipio e la dignità amministrativa di città. E’ agli inizi del Novecento che si registra un forte aumento della popolazione, dovuto all’abbandono progressivo degli stazzi verso la città, con una conseguente crescita edilizia senza precedenti. Il nucleo storico di Tempio ha però sempre mantenuto il suo assetto originario con bellissime chiese e pregevoli palazzetti in granito del Settecento e Ottocento. Il Sindaco di Tempio Romeo Frediani, intervistato sulla Sei Giorni, dichiara: “Siamo grati alla FMI che ha localizzato questo evento di caratura mondiale nella nostra Isola e, in particolare, in Gallura. Importante è il ruolo avuto dal Moto Club Città di Tempio che, nel 2011, ha festeggiato 50 anni di attività. Alla cerimonia ha partecipato anche il Presidente della FMI, Paolo Sesti e non poteva esserci riconoscimento più grande dell’assegnazione della prova finale che si svolgerà nel Crossodromo Sergio Bruschi. La gara si terrà in uno scenario spettacolare sullo sfondo dei boschi galluresi e delle rocce granitiche. I preparativi vedono in prima linea l’amministrazione comunale, a cominciare da Roberto Cossu, assessore al Turismo, Sport, Spettacolo, Cultura. Da evidenziare anche l’impegno degli assessori che si occupano del Bilancio, dei Lavori Pubblici, dell’Ambiente e dei dirigenti responsabili dei vari settori. The Final Race in Tempio Pausania: “We couldn’t be more honoured”

empio Pausania has an ancient history that dates back to the Neolithic as shown by the presence of megaliths, dolmen and nuraghi. Tempio has always been a leading city in the whole of Gallura, its foundation dating back to the Roman dominance, as it was called “Gemellae” or “Templum” in 1173. In 1300 Tempio was called Villa Templi, main city of Gemini, an administrative area of the Giudicato di Gallura. In 1506 it became host of the Catholic Curia and in 1837 the King Carlo Alberto di Savoia granted Tempio with the title of City Hall. DownHill Tribute to ISDE

Sunday 29th September. This tribute to ISDE will be held in the evening and is organized by the ASD Lapierre Sardegna’s society, jointly with ASD Olbia Downhill and with the Municipality of Olbia. The Sardinian Downhill will tribute the ISDE with an acrobatic contest held with Raiders’ mountain bikes which will exhibit throughout the routes of the old town in Olbia. The athletes will display their abilities for two to three hours and at the end the crowd will proclaim the winner.

HARD RACE – ART CORE

Sunday 29th September, starting from 10:00am until late in the evening a few street artists will exhibit in the old town to homenage the ISDE pilots. The event has been organized by START jointly with Olbia’s municipality. The graffiti belonging to the Neolithic era which have been found in the Grotta del Papa on the island of Tavolara, are the best proof of the need for the human beings to communicate through mural art. This demand has never diminished with time and the styles and communication tecniques are still evolving.

L’anno prossimo la Sei Giorni di Enduro cambierà continente per andare in Sud America, per l’esattezza in Argentina. Preparations for the 2014 FIM ISDE are already underway. Next year the Six Days of Enduro will change continent, travelling from Europe to South America, in Argentina. The 89th edition of the oldest motorcycle race will be based in the city of San Juan, which hosted many times the Enduro World Championship. 2014 FIM ISDE will be held from november 3 to 8 and organized by FIM (Federation of International Motorcycling), the Argentine Confederation of Motorcycle Sport (CAMOD) with the support of Argentinian Tourism Board and the Province of San Juan Government.
