EDUCATION, PREVENTION, INTERVENTION, AND RECOVERY

ABOUT NCADD

St. Dominic’s Behavioral Health Services would like to congratulate our friend and colleague Sister Mary Paulinus Oakes, R.S.M.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of the Central Mississippi Area (NCADD) was founded in 1949 to help individuals and families struggling with alcoholism, other addictions, and related issues. We strengthen families and communities through direct assistance, referrals, education, prevention, and public advocacy.

Her dedication and passion to those with mental illness and alcohol and drug abuse has been unwavering. Sister P, as she is known to so many, has dedicated her career to helping those in our community less fortunate. We thank you for your lifetime of service and dedication to others.

ABOUT THE BRONZE KEY The Bronze Key is a national recognition award granted by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence for Affiliate presentation to an individual or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the field and the Affiliate. It is the highest local award presented by Affiliates.

LETTER FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT

NCADD primarily exists to educate and assist people (mostly teenagers and children, but also adults) in regards to alcoholism, drug addiction and nicotine addiction. With distracted driving becoming more of a problem, NCADD has also incorporated this as a focus in relation to teens and senior adults. We also help families navigate through the difficult decisions about recovery – not only for their loved ones, but also for themselves. NCADD works tirelessly to bring the recovering community together with one goal in mind – carrying the message of hope. NCADD would not be able to further its mission without private donations (large and small) and through sales from its bookstore, which is one of the largest collections of recovery books in the state. I invite you to come by to see our store in Ridgeland, visit with our staff and help us carry the message to those in need.
