KINDER is inspired by my daughter Beatrix’s year in kindergarten. The prints are based by her classroom itself (plus an apple for her teacher). The colors come straight from the rainbows that she and her classmates made at the beginning of the school year in homage to the diverse community that is our neighborhood in New York City. I built the collection with bright quilts, illustrative appliqué’s, nap mats and reading poufs, and of course, a first day of school dress, in mind.
