Carson Andrew (Sauk Valley), Kevin Dooley (Spoon River) and Daniel Imbery (Prairie State) bring extensive junior college experience to the Red Devils and will have each have two years of eligibility remaining. Dooley is especially familiar with Clark after having played for the Eureka skipper at Spoon River in 2010 and 2011.

WHAT RETURNS IN 2012?

Seven Eureka players are new to collegiate baseball, including freshmen Jake Baumgardner, Robby Cooper, John Kurtz, Tyler Ledbetter and Nick Passarella.

Eureka will begin the home portion of its schedule on March 21 versus Illinois College at Henry Sand Field. The 24-game SLIAC schedule will begin in Louisville, Ky. on March 24 with a three-game series against Spalding. The Red Devils will play SLIAC home games against MacMurray (March 28), Blackburn (April 11), Webster (April 14-15), Principia (April 20-21) and Greenville (May 2). SLIAC road trips include Westminster (March 31-April 1), MacMurray (April 6), Fontbonne (April 6-7), Blackburn (April 18) and Greenville (April 25). Eureka will also play non-conference games against Knox (March 26), Robert MorrisSpringfield (April 2), Illinois College (April 9), Monmouth (April 23), Chicago (April 28) and Knox (April 30). The top four teams in the final SLIAC regular season standings, excluding NCAA Division III provisional member Spalding, will qualify for the double-elimination SLIAC Tournament in early May. The winner of that tournament will earn the SLIAC’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Eureka is scheduled to play 16 games at Henry Sand Field in 2012. The home opener is scheduled for March 21 versus Illinois College, while the home finale is slated for May 2 against SLIAC foe Greenville.

2012 OUTLOOK

The Red Devils will travel east to begin the season, taking a five-game trip through Tennessee and North Carolina for games against Maryville (Tenn.) (March 13), Guilford (March 14) and Greensboro (March 14-15). A doubleheader at Robert Morris-Springfield on March 19 wraps up the season-opening seven-game road trip.
