the Trident UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY TOP STORIES MARCH 30, 2012 USNA PROFESSOR RECEIVES ONR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD NAVY WINS COLLEGIATE PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP Naval Academy naval architecture and ocean engineering professor Carolyn Judge was one of 26 university professors selected from a record number of applicants for the Office of Naval Research’s Young Investigator Program March 26. The ONR YIP is one of the oldest and most selective scientific research advancement programs in the country. Its purpose is to fund early-career academic researchers – called investigators – whose scientific pursuits show exceptional promise for supporting the Navy and Marine Corps while also promoting their professional development and psychology. The 26 winners this year were selected from a pool of more than 350 candidates.
