ENID AT A GLANCE The town of Enid was born at noon on September
16, 1893, when more than one hundred thousand
land seekers charged into the Cherokee Outlet seek-
ing free land and a new start in life. Despite the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and oil booms and busts, Enid has continued to enjoy a steady growth and a diversified economy over the years.
