Οι εναλλακτικές αναδυόµενες κοινωνικές, οικονοµικές, πολιτικές και πολιτιστικές δοµές στην Ελλάδα γενικά και στην Αθήνα –σε συνθήκες βαθιάς παρακµής– ειδικότερα υποδηλώνουν την αναγέννηση και την ανάπτυξη ενός κοινοτικού κινήµατος. Το σλόγκαν «Ένας άλλος κόσµος είναι εφικτός» επέδρασε καταλυτικά στην ενεργοποίηση του συλλογικού φαντασιακού µιας µεγάλης µερίδας τόσο του εγχώριου όσο και του παγκόσµιου πληθυσµού κατά το διάστηµα των τελευταίων χρόνων και έχει κινητοποιηθεί µέσα από οριζόντιες και «από τα κάτω» διαδικασίες. Σε αυτές καταγράφονται 30 τοπικά ανταλλακτικά συστήµατα, 28 λαϊκές συνελεύσεις γειτονιών και περιοχών της Αττικής και 36 άλλων πόλεων, 9 πρωτοβουλίες συλλογικής διαχείρισης κοινωνικών αγαθών, 5 χαριστικά παζάρια, 5 οµάδες αλληλέγγυου εµπορίου, 7 εργασιακές κολεκτίβες, 18 πρωτοβουλίες για φυσικές καλλιέργειες, τράπεζες χρόνου και δίκτυα παραγωγών-καταναλωτών, αστικοί αγροί, οµάδες που ασχολούνται µε την αυτοδιαχείριση της υγείας, της δόµησης και της ενέργειας. Άλλες οµάδες ασχολούνται µε ελεύθερο λογισµικό και ανοικτό κώδικα, µε αυτοδιαχειριζόµενη τέχνη και πολιτιστικό ακτιβισµό, µε ζητήµατα άµεσης δηµοκρατίας και οικο-κοινοτήτων.6 Πρόκειται για εντυπωσιακούς αριθµούς που περιγράφουν ένα πρόσφατο κοινωνικό φαινόµενο, το οποίο σηµατοδοτεί µια χαρακτηριστική αλλαγή στο συλλογικό ασυνείδητο. Σε αντίθεση µε την κυρίαρχη άποψη που εστιάζει αποκλειστικά στην οικονοµική κρίση, οι συλλογικότητες αντιλαµβάνονται ότι η πραγµατικότητα είναι πολύ πιο σύνθετη και φαινόµενα που είναι σύµφυτα µε την οικονοµική κρίση είναι η κοινωνική, πολιτική, ηθική και περιβαλλοντική κρίση. Όλες αυτές οι µορφές κρίσης πρέπει να ληφθούν υπόψη διότι αποτελούν σοβαρό κίνδυνο για την επιβίωση και το µέλλον του µεγαλύτερου µέρους της κοινωνίας και για το περιβάλλον. Οι πρόσφατες εξελίξεις και η γενεαλογία του κοινού στην αστική Αθήνα Μια υπόθεση εργασίας σε σχέση µε το ξεδίπλωµα των συλλογικοτήτων συνδέεται µε τα γεγονότα του ∆εκέµβρη του 2008. Η δολοφονία ενός νεαρού παιδιού πυροδότησε εκατοντάδες «εκρήξεις» ετερόκλητων κοινωνικών οµάδων που περίµεναν την αφορµή για ένα µαζικό κοινωνικό ξέσπασµα. Εξαιτίας αυτών και άλλων αφορµών στην Αθήνα, ιδιαίτερα συχνά τα τελευταία

fertile ground on which to develop supralocal social networks within the vast boundaries of the digital world. This is the “life of the mind” or General Intellect, according to Paolo Virno, which can be understood as "a common resource from which many draw powers".5 Recent theoretical and practical investigations of the “common” in Athenian society are in tune with a rising international interest of similar investigations on a philosophical, theoretical and practical level. The alternative social, economic, political and cultural structures rising in Greece in general and Athens -now under conditions of a deep decline- in particular, are indicative of the renaissance and development of a communal movement. The motto “Another world is possible” acted as a catalyst activating the collective imaginary of a considerable percentage of the local -as well as the global population- which over the past few years gets mobilized through horizontal grassroots procedures. These included at least thirty local exchange systems; 28 people’s assemblies in the neighbourhoods and regions of Attica, as well as 36 in other cities; nine initiatives for collective management of social goods; five bazaars; five fair trade groups; seven labor collectives; eighteen initiatives for natural farming, time banks and producer to consumer networks; urban farming; groups concerned with self-management of health, construction and energy. Other groups are involved in freeware and open code in computing, with self-managed art and cultural activism; issues of direct democracy and ecocommunities, to name a few.6 These are impressive numbers, which describe a recent social phenomenon which marks a characteristic change in the collective subconscious. From every standpoint it looks as if the "common" is suffocating within the existing frameworks, which it is attempting to broaden using manners and methods, which not always resort to design. In contrast with the dominant view, which focuses exclusively on the crisis of the economy, such collectives perceive that reality as much more complex. Besides the economic crisis, there are social, political, ethical and environmental crises, phenomena that are all inextricably linked. All forms of crisis constitute a serious threat to the survival and the future of the greater part of society and of the environment.
