proximity (work), about smallness and the nearby (grocer´s shops), and the mixrace (people). Founders of the International Situationist say: “units of athmosphere, are constituted by many things, specially by “soft” things, mutant elements of the urban scene: the game of presences and absences, of light and sound, of human activity, of time too, and of how ideas meet. “Hard” elements, as form, size and placing of walls, must articulate gently these delicate things “. In the end, it seems to me, that the direction of the architect, if it is that what we want, will be tied to all these thoughts. It will go from Demiurge to Mediator, in so many scales, between these “soft” things, - so disregarded in the recent iconic great works-, and the hard things. In the poorest Europe that is coming, in the Europe so rich in diversity and mixture that is already here, is our future; and, by the way, also the best of our past.
