Villages Housing Calendar 2010 Welcome to Villages Housing 2010 Community Calendar. We hope that you like the revised format. Following feedback from last year’s calendar we have gone back to a design with a hook to make it easier to hang up. We have worked again with the local primary schools and for the first year the new secondary school, Christ the King, in Knowsley. We do appreciate the support of the local schools and pupils and we hope that you enjoy the pictures. The themes for drawings this year are varied but link to issues that we feel are important such as celebrating good things, thinking of others, aspiring to reach new goals and respecting each other and the environment.
We would like to wish all our residents and partners a Happy, Safe and Prosperous 2010.

Be Sensible – Be Safe – Have a Gas Safety Check!! We are required by law to carry out annual gas service checks to all our properties. It is essential that you grant us access to your home so that this work can be undertaken. This service is for the safety of you, your family, visitors and neighbours. If you fail to permit this vital work to be carried out there will be no alternative but to take you to court to gain access. REMINDER: Either Villages, or our gas contractor, will make direct contact with you when your annual service is due to take place.

Get Fit You don’t have to join a gym to get exercise. Why not ride a bike, or get together with family and friends and go for a walk, or get off the bus a stop earlier? You could even start your own football team, nurturing the world cup players of the future!! History of the World Cup The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup and is scheduled to run from 11 June to 11 July 2010 (THE FINAL!) in South Africa. The first World Cup tournament was held in Uruguay in 1930. In total 13 nations took part — seven from South America, four from Europe and two from North America.

Gas central Heating Performance The Association is required to service all our gas central heating on an annual basis. For the period 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009 97.7% of Villages Housing’s properties were serviced. The shortfall was due to our contractors being unable to gain access. Right to Buy & Shared Ownership Sales In the period 1st April 2008 to 31st April 2009 three tenants exercised their right to buy their home. No shared ownership tenants staircased up to 100%.
