According to the latest TravelMag survey, Byron Bay has been ranked the most expensive destination in Australia. The rates for the average cost per night were compared using a hotel comparison system called Kayak. Prices for the top three were Byron Bay $176, Sydney $136 and Hobart $131. Cairns is the least expensive destination in Australia, according to the survey, with rates averaging at $60. No wonder people sleep in vans by the roadside.

We guess that pre-Christmas stress has something to do with the following data. NRMA Insurance claims data Photographer Peter King’s talented dog Tookie has expanded upon sales of his justly famous used tennis balls and recorded a CD just in time for Christmas. We hear he’s in the running for a Grammy; Iggy Azalea, watch out. Do you have any unusual Christmas gift suggestions you’d like to share with our readers? For the trance party crowd, we can recommend timber tables embedded with photoluminescent resin. For the unreconstructed fishing bloke, the Erotic Carp Calendar (yes, it is real). And for gran, Bing Crosby Sings Death Metal For Christmas. Mr Google will help you find all of these, and have a look at The Slow Mo Guys while you’re at it.

It ‘put a dampener on our wedding weekend’, he admitted. And obviously gave his new wife food for thought. The Gold Coast forward admits he may go dry after relieving himself in public, saying his latest run-in with the law has

him considering giving up alcohol. He denied a police report that claimed he urinated on a marked police car. While Mr Bird’s efforts to bring the game into disrepute fall far short of John Hopoate’s performance on and off the field, it does suggest a new venture for an enterprising tourism operator: ‘Piss Take – see where the famous and notorious have relieved themselves in beautiful Byron Bay.’ We

for NSW last year has revealed that carpark collisions in December increased by 15 per cent above the annual average, with Thursday being the most common day for a carpark collision, closely followed by Friday. There’s probably a corresponding hike in alcohol and aspirin sales. Q Q Q Q

The Emergency+ app developed by the Triple Zero Awareness Work Group (TZAWG) uses the existing GPS functionality of smartphones to enable callers to provide emergency calltakers with their location information as determined by their smartphone. Emergency+ also includes SES and Police Assistance Line numbers as options, so non-emergency calls are made to the most appropriate number. We tried it and the GPS found us okay.
