Summer Intern as Childcare Worker: Advent Group Ministries is a non-profit, interdenominational Christian agency which provides social service programs for disadvantaged children and families. No experience required; willingness to live with 6 adolescents and work with a team of mental health professionals in providing residential care. Will acquire training to become a Resident Childcare Worker. Contact OCS for more information. Page 4 Post-Graduate Opportunity: Teach in China for 10 months! Appalachians Abroad Teach in China program prepares and places around 50-60 participants each year to teach English in China. Participants in this program can spend an academic year (10 month contract) in China. They will teach approximately 16 to 20 hours per week and in exchange be provided free housing on campus, medical care, monthly salary range from $1,000 USD up to $2,400 USD, travel stipend for touring China, and a round-trip international airline ticket upon completion of teaching contract. Upon one’s choice to sign six month or one year contract, they can go to Korea and participate in cross-cultural experience while teaching Korean students English at an after-school setting. EPIK is an opportunity well-suited for native English speakers who have the desire to make positive impact through teaching English at a Korean public school.
