Drakeford Public Relations (Formally known as Drake Natural) is a boutique agency that provides public relation and creative communication services to Luxury Ethical Fashion brands and businesses. We serve our clients by widening availability of STYLISH sustainable fashion in the market place, while encouraging environmental stewardship, social change, and economic development.
Our mission encapsulates a variety of tailored services to help build a platform where in the U.S. we no longer make conscious fashion the exception, but it instead becomes what designers incorporate in their everyday design ethos. Fashion should be Zealous. Whimsical. Edgy. Urban. Funky. Contemporary. Sophisticated and yes … Sustainable!

DESIGN CRITERIA

Craft/ Artisan- products that have been crafted using artisan skills
•
Custom/Tailor Made- “slow fashion” over mass-produced disposable fashion
•
Fabric Waste Reduction- in the production cycle, as little fabric waste as possible in cutting and sewing process
•
Fair/ Ethical Trade- responsibility towards human rights, reasonable work hours, no child labor, the right to unionize, a fair living wage, higher environmental and social standards.

Local- designed and constructed in your local community
•
Low Impact- Dyes made from a class of colorants extracted from vegetable matter: berries, seeds, bark, leaves, and roots

Organic/ Natural textiles and materialsany pesticides and/or other toxic materials, preserving the health of humans and the environment.

Recycled/ Reborn- created with reclaimed, recycled or re-purposed materials

CEO / FOUNDER
CEO and Founder Dominique Drakeford has over 10 years of experience and a passion behind her mission. An Oakland native now living in New York, Dominique obtained her Masters Degree from NYU in Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Fashion, and worked for a myriad of companies including Donna Karan Urban Zen and The GreenShows. Dominique has been featured in numerous publications including Lucky Magazine, Grist, A&U: American AIDS Magazine, Collectors Weekly, Oakland Local and Capital One Small Business Spark Spotlight. MBFW with The GreenShows, to working with the Social Scene team for Essence Magazine's loves to be a pioneer. nl
