Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam

Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam is a division of the giant multinational Doosan Group. The Doosan Group began in 1896 as a consumer products company and has grown to a global enterprise that has annual revenue of over $22 billion, 35,000 employees and operations in 37 countries worldwide. Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam or Doosan Vina broke ground on the $300 million Vietnamese investment in February of 2007 and held a grand opening a short 27 months later on May 15th 2009. Today Doosan Vina employs nearly 2,500 people and nearly a billion dollars worth of mega “Made in Vietnam products are now hard at work in countries around the world. The five business units are: Boiler, Material Handling Systems,

Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Water and Chemical Processing Equipment. The complex has five factories, covers 110 hectares and has its own purpose built and dedicated port. The five factories have a total of 421,837 square meters of enclosed space. Doosan Vina is a one of a kind, state of the art facility located in Central Vietnam in the Dung Quat Economic Zone of Quang Ngai Province. The facility is staffed with the best technicians and engineers and equipped with the latest technology and machinery. With the ever increasing level of orders for our specialized products employment is anticipated to reach 3,500 in the near future and we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to be a part of the dream and come watch us grow!

Look inside any thermal power plant and you’ll find a boiler. It doesn’t matter whether the raw energy used comes from gas or coal or nuclear reaction, inside the plant you will find a boiler hard at work methodically converting one source of energy into steam to drive turbines that spin a generator to produce electricity for people the world over. A boiler is considered the heart of the thermal power plants and Doosan Vina’s Boiler shop has manufactured boilers with total generating capacity of well over 10,000 MW. For perspective that is equal to nearly half of Vietnam’s total power capacity and if all were installed in Vietnam nearly 15 million additional households could be served. These “made in Vietnam” boilers are currently producing electricity and fueling development in Brazil, Egypt, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, India and Vietnam. Main Product: Steam Boiler Square Meter of Shop: 92,136 Typical Customer: Power plant developers worldwide Number of Employees: 327

Earth friendly energy solutions for a power hungry planet are what Doosan Vina’s Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) shop are committed to. An HRSG unit is a large piece of equipment (4,000 tones) that works in tandem with a gas fired thermal power plant to capture and recover otherwise wasted energy to produce additional electricity. By capturing the wasted energy and turning it into electricity, the HRSG’s made by Doosan Vina increase the efficiency of a typical power plant by 30%, saving money and reducing pressure on the environment. Our HSRG units are producing power in Vietnam, Romania, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, France, India, Israel and Turkey. According to the McCoy Energy Report there is an average of 400 HRSG units sold globally each year which is driving high demand and Doosan is proud to have been the HRSG market leader for the last several years. Main Product: Heat Recovery Steam Generator Square Meter of shop: 45,153 Typical Customer: Electric utilities worldwide Number of employees: 166

There are over 30,000 ocean going cargo vessels sailing the seven seas. This endless stream of ships transports the goods we consume each day. The US alone ships 1.2 billion metric tons of cargo annually and all that cargo has to be quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded or the supply chain will fail and the economy will come to a standstill. Whether it’s tea for Texans or rice for Rangoon one of our mega cargo crane undoubtedly played a role in the supply of the goods. Material Handling Systems or MHS designs, manufactures and assembles these giant cranes which are at the center of the global logistics and make modern life a reality all over the world. Main Product: Rail Mounted Quay Crane or Rubber Tire Gantry Crane Square Meter of Shop: 70,200 Typical Customer: Municipal port authorities and Large scale port operators Number of Employees: 277

Water everywhere but not a drop to drink! Why would anyone on a planet that is nearly 75% covered by water ever say that? The answer of course is because most of that water is salty seawater and undrinkable. Today because of our ever increasing urbanization and growing demand for fresh water a solution had to be found and the engineers and technicians at Doosan have designed and built one of the world’s most technologically advanced pieces of equipment to turn that salty ocean water into fresh potable water for our thirsty planet. One of Doosan’s desalination plants stands over three stories tall, has a footprint nearly the size of a football pitch (16m high, 25m wide, 125m long) and weighs over 4,000 tons. One of these massive units can produce 91 million liters of fresh water per day and when placed in tandem like the eight Doosan made for Raz Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, over two million people now have enough water to meet their daily needs. Main Product: Multi-stage flash desalination evaporator Square Meter of shop: 44,018 Typical Customer: Municipal water corporations worldwide Number of employees: 217

Chemical Processing Equipment or CPE is what produces the petrol that most of us depend on to get from point A to point B and the shampoo that washes our hair. The typical piece of equipment made by our CPE shop is a behemoth steel vessel that has pipes, seals and gauges all over its sides. If you picture a rocket ship in a sci-fi movie you have a pretty good idea what the high tech products that convert the earth’s natural resources into the products we take for granted and use every day. Today our CPE products are distilling gas at the Wasit Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia, creating aromatherapy oils in Singapore and converting crude oil into chemicals and petrol in Algerian and right next door at the Binh Son Refinery. Main Product: Chemical Processing Equipment, Pressure Vessels, heat Exchanger, reactors‌ Square Meter of Shop: 170,330 Typical Customer: Refineries and chemical processing plants worldwide. Number of Employees: 362

Since Doosan Vina broke ground and began construction in 2007 the company has carried out an extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) program. To date, Doosan Vina has contributed nearly $2 million funding CSR activities. Some of the programs are an annual quarter million dollar medical service, an active scholarship program for Vietnamese students in universities across the country. Additionally Doosan Vina has mobilized to repair roads

and bridges; donated over $85,000 in medical equipment to local hospitals, built houses for the homeless, supported victims of floods/typhoons and much, much more. One mega project involved the donation of a near $1 million desalination plant, and generators for Ly Son Island. These and our other CSR activities have earned the company several national and international awards for its commitment to being a good neighbor and helping those in need.
