An increasing share of goods is currently transported by trucks, resulting in pollution and strain on roads. However, improved frame conditions and closer cooperation between parties involved in sea freight may enhance more short-sea shipping. Moreover, tougher environmental legislation and potential financial gains by switching to LNG will trigger an increased fleet of LNG-fuelled short-sea vessels.
