ICT in Education: Resource Guide 2009-2010 The collective efforts of the technological community have brought forth innovations which can have a significant and everlasting effect on the education scene in India. The myriad resources that are available and still being churned out have positioned the country’s educational sector on par with global technological standards. While increase in the number of educational services have meant that the resources exist, concerted efforts in bringing them together into one channel still needs to be addressed.

Advisory Board Prof. Asha Kanwar, Vice President, Commonwealth of Learning Dr. Jyrki Pulkkinen, CEO, Global eSchools and Communities Initiative (GeSCI)

The academic community of today is flooded with a maze of information. However, the end users are not able to make adequate use of the vast resource base since these are scattered and quite often not available when they are most needed. Exciting new developments have left the community in want of a guide to direct them through the jumble and provide them with a one-stop-solution to their requirements. The need of the hour is to untangle and simplify the massive maze and bring to the users a demystified version of the great technology and education mammoth.

Shri Subhash C Khuntia, Joint Secretary, Department School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India

With the dawn of the digital age, we bring our readers and other end users with a resource that will serve the very purpose that these technologies have been seeking to address – reaching out to the education community.

Prof. V N Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor, Indira GandhiI National Open University (IGNOU)
