Alliance Community Hospital is a nonprofit hospital that was founded in 1901. It is only one of two Planetree affiliates in Ohio, making it uniquely focused on patient care. Planetree is an internationally recognized organization that advocates patient-centered care and focuses on progressive technologies. ACH is licensed for 204 beds including 78 nursing home and transitional-care beds that are found in the attached long-term care facility, Community Care Center. ACH is fully accredited by The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program and offers a medical staff of more than 150 active and covering physicians. ACH has centers in cardiopulmonary services, sleep disorders, digestive health and pain medicine as well as critical care and emergency services. It also specializes in long-term, outpatient, surgical, senior and wound care. Along with state-of-the-art medical services, ACH offers complementary therapies to patients including aromatherapy, deep-tissue massage and Reiki. A popular therapy dogs program invites well-trained pets certified by Therapy Dogs International to visit the hospital to help patients lower blood pressure and cope with being away from their pets. Educational services include diabetes education, community support groups, community seminars and individualized patient education. The hospital has many affiliates that provide services to patients. Affiliates include an occupational medicine center; Alliance Aultworks Occupational Medicine; a home medical supply company, DASCO Medical Equipment; Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice; and several physician group practices.
