From 3 March to 1 July 2012, the Kunsthalle Krems will be showing a major spring exhibition, “Miracles. Art, Science and Religion from the 4th Century to the Present”. Using more than 50 artistic positions and a similar number of exhibits from the worlds of religion, science and everyday life, the exhibition follows the path of the miracle. From 29 April to 24 June, German action painter John Bock is guesting at the Kunsthalle Krems. He will be enriching the gallery’s Central Hall with an installation in close cooperation with the donaufestival. From 15 July to 4 November, a major retrospective will be devoted to Francis Picabia. He rates as a major innovator, provocateur, activist, bon vivant, lateral thinker and crossover artist of modernity, who wrote his place into the art history of the 20th century as a painter and poet. From 18 November, the Kunsthalle Krems will be showing, for the first time, an extensive overview of the creations of Anna Jermolaewa from the past 15 years. In parallel with these exhibitions, Thomas Feuerstein is setting up a laboratory in which the artistic and natural sciences come together to create a translation and transformation machine in the form of a procedural sculpture. From 17 March to 15 November, the Karikaturmuseum Krems is presenting the major highlight exhibition “Janosch. Tiger, Duck, Bear & More”. For the first time ever in Austria, an extensive exhibition will be showing the successful German illustrator and author in his totality as an artist. A new design of the long-term presentation of Manfred Deix follows from 9 September onwards, and the exhibition “Erich Sokol. Mercilessly Genial” will be on show from 25 November. ie beiden Flaggschiffe der Kunstmeile Krems – Kunsthalle Krems und Karikaturmuseum Krems – sowie die Factory, das Forum Frohner und der Kunstraum Stein präsentieren heuer in 25 Ausstellungen ein Programm von außerordentlicher Bandbreite. Die Kunsthalle Krems zeigt von 3. März bis 1. Juli 2012 die große Frühjahrsausstellung „Wunder. Kunst, Wissenschaft und Religion vom 4. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart“. Die Ausstellung mit mehr als 50 künstlerischen Positionen und ebenso vielen Exponaten aus Religion, Wissenschaft und Alltag begibt sich auf die Spur des Wunders. Von 29. April bis 24. Juni gastiert der deutsche Aktionskünstler John Bock in der Kunsthalle Krems. Er wird in enger Kooperation mit dem donaufestival die Zentrale Halle mit einer Installation bereichern. Von 15. Juli bis 4. November ist Francis Picabia eine groß angelegte Retrospektive gewidmet. Er gilt als großer Erneuerer, Provokateur, Anreger, Lebemann, Querdenker und Grenzgänger der Moderne, der sich als Maler und Poet des 20. Jahrhunderts in die Kunstgeschichte eingeschrieben hat. Ab 18. November zeigt die Kunsthalle Krems erstmals einen umfassenden Überblick über das Schaffen von Anna Jermolaewa aus den letzten 15 Jahren. Parallel dazu richtet Thomas Feuerstein ein Labor ein, in dem sich Kunst- und Naturwissenschaften treffen, um in Form einer prozessualen Skulptur eine Übersetzungs- und Transformationsmaschine zu realisieren. Das Karikaturmuseum Krems präsentiert von 17. März bis 15. November die große Highlight-Ausstellung „Janosch. Tiger, Ente, Bär & mehr“. Erstmals zeigt eine umfangreiche Schau in Österreich den erfolgreichen deutschen Illustrator und Schriftsteller in seiner Gesamtheit als Künstler. Ab 9. September folgt eine Neugestaltung der Dauerpräsentation von Manfred Deix und ab 25. November ist die Ausstellung „Erich Sokol. Gnadenlos genial“ zu sehen.
