uf ihren rund 4.000 m² Ausstellungsfläche zeigt die Albertina auch im Frühjahr 2012 ein vielseitiges Programm: Neben der permanenten Schausammlung, die einen einzigartigen Überblick über die spannendsten Kapitel aus 130 Jahren Kunstgeschichte – vom französischen Impressionismus bis in die jüngste Gegenwart – bietet, ist ab 10. Februar die Ausstellung „Impressionismus. Pastelle – Aquarelle – Zeichnungen“ zu sehen. Sie umfasst über 200 Werke der bedeutendsten Impressionisten und Postimpressionisten wie Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Gauguin und Toulouse-Lautrec. Es ist international die erste Ausstellung zum Impressionismus, die sich ausschließlich deren Arbeiten auf Papier widmet. Ein weiteres Ausstellungshighlight des Jahres 2012 ist die Schau „Gustav Klimt. Die Zeichnungen“, die ab dem 14. März zu sehen ist. Ein Großteil der insgesamt 170 Blätter aus eigenem Bestand, ergänzt von sorgfältig ausgewählten Leihgaben, wird in dieser Ausstellung Klimts zeichnerisches Talent beleuchten. Neben den Ausstellungen sind in der Albertina auch die 21 vollständig restaurierten, mit kostbaren Originalmöbeln ausgestatteten Prunkräume zu besichtigen. Sie erinnern glanzvoll an die Wohn- und Repräsentationskultur der Habsburgerzeit in einem der schönsten klassizistischen Palais Europas. n its exhibition space of around 4,000 square metres, the Albertina is once again showing a highly diverse programme in the spring of 2012: in addition to the permanent show collection, which offers a unique overview of the most thrilling chapters from 130 years of art history – from French Impressionism to the latest contemporary work – visitors will be able to see the exhibition “Impressionism. Pastels – Aquarelles – Drawings” from 10 February onwards. The exhibition takes in over 200 works by the most important Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, such as Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Gauguin and Toulouse-Lautrec. This is the first exhibition of Impressionism anywhere in the world to be devoted exclusively to the work of those above and others on paper alone. Another exhibition highlight for 2012 will be the show “Gustav Klimt. The Drawings”, opening on 14 March. A large part of the total of 170 pieces in the exhibition are coming from the museum’s own stock, and will be complemented by carefully selected loans from elsewhere to highlight Klimt’s drawing talent.In addition to the exhibitions, 21 fully restored imperial rooms, complete with the original furniture, can also be viewed at the Albertina. These are gloriously reminiscent of the residential and representative culture of the Habsburg era, in what is one of the most beautiful classicist palaces in Europe.
