A DFID synthesis report, The Politics of Poverty: Elites, Citizens and States, summarises the key research findings from four major DFID-funded research programmes on governance over the last ten years: the Centre on Citizenship, Participation and Accountability Programme (Institute of Development Studies), the Centre for the Future State (based at Institute for Development Studies, Sussex), the Crisis States Research Centre (London School of Economics), and the Centre for Research on Inequality, Human Security and Ethnicity (CRISE, University of Oxford).
