the composition The units on the site were layed out according to the path of the sun. The units were layed out in such a way to minimise direct light and maximise cross ventilation. The two major positions of the sun considered were the summer solstice and the winter solstice. The angles between the summer solstice and winter solstice represented the path of the sun throughout the entire year with the two solstices being the two extremes.

The units were rotated in such a way that the small surface area possible would reciece direct sunlight and also so that the units would be able to provide shade to the adjacent northen units.
