CONSTRUCTION

SPECIFICATIONS Steel door sections are sandwich-type construction consisting of an exterior and interior “stucco”-embossed skin bonded to an expanded polystyrene core. Both steel skins to be separated at joints by a continuous silicone bead to form a true thermal break. Steel skins to be of commercial quality with G-40 hot-dipped galvanization. A baked-on paint finish of 0.3 mil primer and 0.7 mil polyester top coat shall cover exposed steel. Exterior steel skins to have .040" minor ribs in either 4" or 5" increments, on center. End stiles to be .038" minimum. Reinforced plates are present and prepunched at all hinge locations for internal hardware support and ease of installation. Full-length aluminum astragal retainer and U-shaped flexible PVC vinyl to attach to bottom section. Sections to be weathertight at joints by employment of full-width self-lubricating wear seals.

Delden’s CDC is of sandwich-type design, is constructed of hot-dip galvanized interior and exterior steel skins adhered to an expanded polystyrene core with a specially developed adhesive. Section joint “wear seals” provide additional thermal break, and minimize friction and noise through the seal’s self lubricating properties. Hardware locations are reinforced with steel backup plates. Section skins are pre-formed with a soft “stucco” finish; shallow “ribs” enhance the appeal of door sections’ front side.

EFFICIENCY

The expanded polystyrene core insulates against the elements with a very efficient “R” value. Air infiltration is minimized by a superior tongue-and-groove design that utilizes a polypropylene wear seal. This long lasting wear seal and joint design stop the weather elements at the face of the door and allow the internal thermal breaks to perform more efficiently. The accommodating U-shaped bottom weatherstrip seals tightly against floors that may be rough or out of level. With a host of weather seal options for various jamb and header conditions, air infiltration is further minimized. Delden offers a fully “finished” opening that is aesthetically pleasing and thermally efficient.
