This has surely been a busy winter for John and I so far. Following the holiday season we began an email campaign soliciting donations from RV parts and Services suppliers. Over 100 emails were sent and we have already received some really nice contributions to be given away at the Region Rally in Copake, NY. Our Rally bags and Northeast Region personalized mouse pads have been ordered. We can’t wait to get this rally underway. My dining room is beginning to look like we’re moving out with all the boxes of donations just waiting to be given away. In January, our secret plan was to fly into Tampa, Florida and be a part of the Owners Club presence at the Tampa Super Show. Nobody knew we were coming but it’s funny how things come together. After our flight landed we rented a motorized roller skate (Fiat) and headed toward the hotel. We wound up sitting four cars behind Jim Beletti at an intersection in front of the Tampa Fairgrounds. Perfect timing! Jim led us back to the Lazy Days Campground where most members participating in the show were staying. We caught up with the group, ate some dinner (go figure), and sat for a few hours visiting with friends. It was such a pleasure getting to see our Northern friends who depart for warmer climates throughout the winter. In addition, it was wonderful to make some new friends from the Southern States that we may have never met otherwise. We spent the days at the show and evenings with our friends at camp before returning to the hotel. That is one awesome RV Show and if ever you have the opportunity to get there, don’t miss it! We flew home on Monday and have no regrets! What a fun time! Did I mention my dining room full of prizes and giveaways for the region rally? It’s like Christmas everyday here. I come home from work and a big brown truck brings your presents to my door. I really can’t wait until I can package up your stuff and turn it over to you. I want my house back! Let’s change gears here for a bit! Delaware now has an active chapter. Though they are small, we don’t expect they will remain that way for long. As the ex and founding Pennsylvania Chapter Leaders have relocated to the 1st State, Cheryl and Jim have stepped up and are now the founding leaders of our Delaware Chapter. Kudos to them and to all Heartland owners in their state. We look forward to their rally announcement in the near future.
Speaking of rallies….. Planning for all state level rallies in the region is well underway! Please try to attend at least one of these events this year. If you have not been a part of a previous HOC Rally, once you do you will be pleasantly surprised with the events. Our chapter leaders put on some really nice events and their hard work always gives dividends repaid by the smiles on your faces. When you attend one rally you will then become a member of “Rally-holics”. Rally-holics meetings are held where ever we happen to congregate for the weekend. Be it at a scheduled rally or an informal camp-out, you will truly enjoy your Heartland product more once you have experienced the friendship that attending a rally will foster.

We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites in West Atlantic City. This is also the weekend of the Atlantic City RV Show and we will have a Heartland presence in the Crossroads Trailer Sales display throughout the weekend. In addition to the RV Show we plan to take in a nice dinner and spend Saturday evening at the casinos. Badge hangers will be presented to our show volunteers and they will also receive free entry to the show compliments of Crossroads Trailer Sales. The 2nd Annual Northeast Chapter Leader Summit is scheduled for April 6-9 at Oak Creek Campground in Lancaster, PA. John and Mary Ann Proto are the honorary wagon masters for this event. What does that mean? It means John will be frying the turkey! Anyone is welcome to spend the weekend with us and we would be happy to have you along. The Chapter Leaders will be holding a 2013 planning meeting over the weekend and we will naturally be spending some time at the Shady Maple for sure! Click this LINK for more information. The Northeast Region is proud of taking part in a Heartland Gives back at every rally in the region. The Northeast Region Rally this year will be donating to the Roe-Jan Food Pantry. The pantry is run strictly from donations by the Hillsdale Methodist Church. The Pantry serves needy residents of Hillsdale, Copake, Ancram and Gallatin. Pennsylvania will be participating in a Red Cross Blood Drive as a part of the Emergency Responders Weekend at Friendship Village. What could be better than giving the gift of life? New York, New Jersey and Maryland Initiatives are still in the planning stages but we will let you know about them as soon as their plans are firm .
