“The Shot” On Feb. 18, 1984, No. 3-ranked DePaul entered UD Arena for a game nationally-televised on NBC. After trailing almost the entire game, the Flyers had one last chance for the lead. Larry Schellenberg rebounded a missed free throw, brought the ball up the floor and hit Roosevelt Chapman with a cross-court pass. Chapman fed Ed Young with four seconds to go, and Young banked the game-winning bucket off the glass and through the net as time expired to give UD a thrilling 72-71 win. The win propelled the Flyers into the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the Regional Finals before falling to eventual champ Georgetown.
