Take a journey through rock As a wide variety of live music nights spring to life across the capital, Winding Corridors are now taking audiences on an elaborate journey through the world of rock. Having started playing at Down Town Live (exMberdema Club) in Old Nicosia, the band will continue playing every Friday night for crowds to enjoy a good old gig. Go down to the venue and you’ll get to see Claire Palmer and Eleonora La Luna on vocals, Dimitris Simitras on bass, Sotiris Stavrides on electric guitar, Dimitris Panayides on drums and Nikolas Pavlides on keyboard. Having formed back in 2003, they slowly began to work up a great reputation in towns around the island, taking part in a variety of events. American diner motif in former car showroom Showroom Café, Larnaca Showroom is a new, vibrant restaurant/café situated on Makarios Avenue in downtown Larnaca which offers a little something for everybody throughout the day with its long opening hours and wide variety of food and drink on offer. Previously a car showroom, hence the name, the automobile theme is the main inspiration behind the café in general. The interior walls are covered with vintage vehicles while a row of old Vespa mopeds sit just above the bar area to give that old American diner ambience. An essence of modernity is released with its wooden flooring and comfortable sofa couches dotted around the establishment, while more practical tables and chairs can also be found for dining. The café is open from 8am and offers a number of options for breakfast; anything as light as a croissant to a full-blown English breakfast. Your common coffees such as lattes and cappuccinos are available yet the wide range of teas are well worth a try. When it comes to lunch or dinner, the menu does not disappoint either; portions are some of the most generous in town while the prices are very reasonable, with just a few options costing more than €10. Showroom tends to bring in a number of locals who work nearby for food in the daytime, and its latest offer of 40 per cent off from 11am to 3pm gives an added incentive to try it out. For businesses, there are also a few conference rooms located on the first floor which are available for hire. For sports fans, Showroom is equipped with foreign satellite stations that broadcast all the major sporting events from home and abroad while for those who like a bit of live music in the evenings, the café plays host to a number of live events on Friday nights with individual artists or bands that attract healthy crowds.
