What inspired the development of the kids line? “The growth in the market of mommy’s embracing their natural tresses, with kids drove my need to launch the sister line to CURLS…and it was a great business idea! The line is very well received. “ 3. What are your go-to Curlie Q products? “I style our Moist Curls Moisturizer and our Curly Q Milkshake on my curly cutie…her curls pop instantly!” 4. Is there a difference between the products sold online and in the local stores (Target & Sally)? “Yes, we have two distinct lines…our Retail line for Sally, Target, CVS, WalMart, etc and we have our Professional line for salons. We launched our retail line to compete in the budget friendly hair care space….same quality products, different formulations for curlies that want great curls without spending $25 per product.” 5. What's the craziest thing someone has said about your hair? “I get asked at hair shows, several times a day, if I either relax my hair or if it is a weave (when it is really long). I never understood why a brown sistah couldn’t have a certain “texture” or length.” 6. What's one thing people should know about you but don't? “I am a mom of 4…18, 8, 7, and 1. My life requires a LOT of balancing.” 7. What can we expect to see from Curls in 2013? “CURLS is taking over in 2013! We launch in WalMart (mid March), have an amazing project that we are going to roll out, new customer incentive programs and new products.
