The CSSC Games is a fantastic event to be involved in, whether you’re one of the 1,500 competitors taking part, or one of our much valued volunteer team. This biennial sporting extravaganza will be taking place on 15 September 2017 at Loughborough University. With most activities, accommodation (Thursday and Friday) and entertainment on campus, it’s the ideal location for a full day of competition. Whatever your sporting ability, there’s an event for you!

1921 CSSC FOUNDED
1871 FA CHALLENGE CUP The Civil Service Football Club (CSFC) helped create and played in the first ever FA Cup Challenge competition in the 1871 / 72 season. From 1901 the CSFC regularly toured the continent up until 1926 and were highly successful, regularly competing against what are now among the world’s leading teams including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
At an enthusiastic meeting held on 4 November 1921 at Central Hall, Westminster, the Chairman, Sir Aubrey Symonds, K.C.B., Second Secretary, Ministry of Health, proposed the first resolution as follows: “That this meeting, representative of Civil Service Sport in all its branches, now records its opinion that the time has arrived for the formation of a United Civil Service Sports Club,” the resolution being duly seconded. 2003 CSSC GAMES The first Games were held at Millfield School in 2003 and have been held every two years since at Loughborough University. Over the years, 27 sports have been included and two royal visits in 2003 and 2015 have taken place.
The CSFC celebrated 150 years of playing association football in 2013. The CSFC is acknowledged as the sole surviving association football club from the original 11 clubs who founded The Football Association in London on 26 October 1863.
