More than 15 faculty and staff showed up to get started on learning new Web 2.0 technologies. By the end of the event most participants had accomplished at least 4 of the project’s 23 goals including set- ting up their own blog! If you’ve ever wondered how to create and use blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, Flickr, YouTube, mashups, eBooks and other new web 2.0 technologies, it’s not too late to join our learning community. CSM Learning 2.0 is an outgrowth of a Creative Commons project program started by librarian Helene Blowers. CSM Learning 2.0 is a new learning program spear- Meet the Newest Librarian @ CSM! Please welcome our new reference librarian, Michele Alaniz, who comes to the CSM Library with reference, instruction, and cataloging experience and an extensive background in graphic and web design. Michele, a SJSU SLIS graduate (2006), has worked for the San Mateo County Library, De Anza College Library, and the Califa Library Group. Michele said that she has always wanted to work in an academic library and likes working with the diverse needs and abilities of the students who attend a community college. Michele enjoys knitting, snowboarding, and taking pictures of her 3 year old daughter, Ruby.
