The subtle language of the colours and fibres, which are so closely tied to nature, gives any room a warm cosy, sensual charm. The harmony of material, structure and colour creates a timeless aesthetic without concealing its origins. With Natura Basic and Natura Structure, the Natura collection encompasses around 90 freely combinable textiles, many of which are available in a width of 300 cm. Earthy tones such as black or mahogany as well as light nuances of sand and beige enrich the white colour palette. Natura Basic incorporates all basic qualities, from light cotton and silk taffeta to coarse linen. Natura Structure captivates with its versatile patterns and structures. CREATED USING THE FINEST OF FABRICS. FINISHED IN THE HIGHEST QUALITY. The fabrics in the Natura collection are produced using natural fibres only. They therefore combine simple elegance with high sensuality. The years of experience which characterise Création Baumann’s craftsmanship and finishing of textiles ensure that the balance between naturalness, longevity and everyday durability is maintained. Fibre by fibre, Natura fabrics emphasise that nature and technology are not opposites. The latest processing technology lends textiles certain properties – long life, high resistance to light-induced fading along with easy care and maintenance – which enable their natural qualities to be preserved in the best possible way. p Wool Fine to the touch and with their silky sheen, wool fibres are stretchy, supple and virtually free of wrinkles. The crimp and the fine molecular structure ensure woollen textiles always retain their original shape. Wool is elastic, flameretardant, stain-repellent, antistatic and even has temperature-

regulating properties: its fibres adapt to the ambient air and absorb moisture without feeling wet. p Cotton With its excellent spinning capability and applicability for universal use, cotton offers good durability and colour fastness. Dyes penetrate deep into every fibre, making this material ideal for dyeing and for printing. It feels delicate and soft, and mercerising gives it a silky lustre. Cotton is highly absorbent, resistant to tearing and abrasion as well as anti-static. As a decorative fabric, it also has a regulating effect on indoor climate conditions. p Silk Unparalleled in terms of splendour and smoothness, silk is the most exclusive of all natural fibres. Silk fabrics are very soft, they barely wrinkle and are particularly elastic. Its finesse, lightness along with

high durability make silk a firstclass decorative element in every sense. Silk is sensitive to heat and UV light, which make the colours fade so direct sunlight should be avoided. p Linen Linen, with its natural way of wrinkling, suits today’s desire for authenticity perhaps more so than any other fabric. Its extremely pristine character is the result of its low elasticity, which is the nature of the linen fibres. The fibres are easy to spin, very durable, lightresistant and even more resistant to wear and tear than cotton. The textiles, which take on a flaxen colour in their natural state, are pleasantly cool and dry to the touch.

Ă&#x2030;volution Baumann: The company which Friedrich Baumann and Albert Brand founded in 1886 has now developed into a textile company with worldwide operations and a staff of over 250 people.

CRÉATION BAUMANN. FUTURE-ORIENTED SINCE 1886. Langenthal, 1886: Friedrich Baumann and Albert Brand found a company for the production and sale of linen and semi-linen fabrics. This marks the beginning of a success story filled with pioneering achievements, from the first mechanical linen weaving mill in 1905 followed by the growth of a worldwide sales network and eventually the introduction of self-adhesive textiles in the 21st century. The «Création Baumann» brand name, which was first used in a sample book at the end of the 1950s, remains a firm promise to this day, hundreds of collections and thousands upon thousands of products later. Whether dealing with fabrics for furnishings, interior shading systems or self-adhesive textiles – Création Baumann’s customers can rely on innovative solutions in terms of aesthetics, function, production and distribution. Run by a fourth generation of owners, Création Baumann is characterised by its responsible actions towards mankind and the environment. CREATIVITY. UP-TO-DATE RIGHT DOWN TO THE LAST FIBRE. In keeping with the signs of the times or effortlessly timeless? Création Baumann’s collections have a clear answer to this: yes to both. The textiles reflect the culture of their time without giving in to fads and short-lived trends or elitist experiments. One of Création Baumann’s marks of quality was, is and remains its own creative expertise. Its products have always been inspired by changes in fashion, architecture and art. The design team in Langenthal are passionately driven by their search for a way to express these trends in their textiles. The Swiss artist Cornelia Forster, who characterised the Baumann print collection in the 1950s, got right to the heart of this passionate work with the following poetic question: «Where is the present? It’s a dot, one so small, but it forms a world for one and all.» Intense interaction with the world and its cultures ensures that the word «Création» is reinforced with each collection – thanks to textiles designed in a contemporary way which not only fulfil their function but also emotionally inspire those who set their eyes on them.

This ambition to offer the best solution in every country and for every customer was expressed as far back as 1953 in a hand-written export instruction by Fritz Baumann which reads, «The important thing is to supply individual fabrics in accordance with the type of business. [...] What are they looking for? What colours are fashionable? Ask a lot of questions but don’t be overpowering.» The fact that this instruction is still effective to this day is backed up by the strong international growth experienced by the company since then.
