HAS INITIATED PROJECT PLANNING FOR MD 5 FROM MD 243 TO MD 245 IN ST. MARY’S COUNTY
Here’s How It Works:
This study will develop and evaluate possible improvements to MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) from MD 243 (Newtowne Neck Road) to MD 245 (Hollywood Road) in St. Mary’s County. The project planning phase includes agency and public involvement, the review of all reasonable alternatives, including the No-Build Alternative, and an evaluation of social, economic and natural environmental impacts. It concludes with the receipt of location and design approvals if a build alternative is selected. As a part of the public involvement activities, and consistent with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, comments are invited regarding historic properties in the project area, including standing structures and archeological resources. Citizen involvement in the planning process is encouraged.
