Working from sketches and specifications, as well as verbal and written instructions, the drafter/ detailer captures the ideas of engineers and designers and converts them into a technical drawing (blueprint). Drafters/ Detailers are also utilized to update technical drawings due to engineering changes, and to finish (detail) drawings that were started by a designer. Once you complete this program, you can easily continue to enhance your skills and employability, as well as your earning potential, by continuing your education at CCC in one of our technology programs leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree. Some of these programs could be completed with only one additional year of study.
