According to Band Director Phelan Bauman the students went above and beyond her expectations to earn this top award along with a caption award for flag/dance/auxiliary. “I have never heard the band play more musically on the field than they did that early morning at State,” she said. She added that although

the morning was crisp with frost and the musicians had frozen fingers, the judges and audience were dazzled by the ever present Bearcat Band’s pride of excellence. Bauman is inviting everyone to honor the band’s success and enjoy its new Concert Season at the Winter Concert this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Ray District auditorium.
