Born of adversity, Ak-Sar-Ben was founded in 1895 by a group of 12 business leaders drawn together to save the State Fair from moving. During the next century the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation granted millions in scholarships, provided community entertainment and gifted more than $50 million to support Heartland civic efforts. Today the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation continues under a mission of leveraging collective business leadership to build a more prosperous heartland.
