Great connections R oad, rail, air or sea – Great Yarmouth is easily accessible, with excellent transport links. On the east coast of England, Great Yarmouth is 120 miles from London and 100 miles from mainland Europe. It is just 20 miles away from Norfolk’s thriving capital, Norwich which provides a gateway to the UK and mainland Europe via its airport and mainline station. By road: From the west, the A47 leads straight into the heart of Great Yarmouth, providing excellent links with the Midlands via the A47, A11 and A14. Heading south, the A12 links Great Yarmouth to Ipswich, Colchester and London. It takes 37 minutes by road to travel to Norwich, and three hours to travel to central London By rail: Frequent trains to Norwich link to onward connections to London and Cambridge, while rail services to Peterborough provide onward links to the Midlands and Northern England. By air: Norwich International Airport is 23 miles, or a 44 minute drive, from Great Yarmouth. Regular direct scheduled flights to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, provide connections to 190 destinations worldwide. There are also scheduled flights to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester year-round, and seasonal flights to several other key destinations within the UK. Stansted Airport is a two-and-a-quarter-hour drive and offers direct flights to destinations worldwide.

The North Denes Heliport, in Great Yarmouth, provides an important base for services to the offshore oil and gas sector. The heliport is ideally placed for cost-effective transfers of workers to the East Anglian Array, as well as other offshore wind farms off the Norfolk and Suffolk coast. By sea: EastPort UK offers a wide range of berths and quays, both within the river and in the new outer harbour, accommodating vessels of up to 30,000 dwt (deadweight tons).
