The Chamber targets Business Growth and Development as a major initiative through regular educational seminars and numerous networking opportunities, including events such as Business After Hours, Business Networking Breakfast, Noon Networking, and the Golf Tournament. These events offer Chamber members different networking opportunities each month, at different times of the day, to accommodate all schedules. Along with business growth, the Chamber accommodates the city’s need for a thriving workforce through its Education and Workforce Development Committee. This committee

works in various ways to address the education and training needs of the community. Legislative Affairs is an area of increasing interest and impact for cities all over the state. The Chamber hosts many legislative luncheons throughout the year, covering issues such as transportation, signage, education, and building ordinances. These luncheons keep Chamber members informed and current on legislation at all levels of government. Although not a political organization, the Chamber’s goal is to be the instrument by which Chamber leadership makes informed decisions about topics affecting the community. Community Development is a crucial area of focus for the Temple Chamber. It is involved in multiple programs and initiatives that strengthen the community as a whole. Keep Temple Beautiful and the Temple Business Incubator are two programs in which the Chamber maintains a strong influence. Leadership Temple, organized and operated by Chamber volunteers and staff, is composed of current and potential leaders from all areas of the Temple community. This program is intended to prepare them to participate in community-oriented, decision-making activities and positions. The Chamber is also dedicated to the development and success of the annual Bloomin’ Temple Festival, held in April each year. This festival boosts the economy of the area and generates an interest in the city. In addition to these programs, there are Chamber committees that feed Community Development as well, including the Temple Downtown Development Alliance. Overall, these active development committees and programs improve the downtown area and beautify the city of Temple. These programs also heighten awareness, involvement, interest, and concern for this growing city.
