CBC partners with community to showcase all it has to offer On November 8, 2012, the CBC Pleasanton Campus hosted a Community Ties event. The Community Ties event showcased CBC programs offered on the Pleasanton campus such as nursing, welding, accounting, cosmetology, and early education and development in addition to the university transfer/core curriculum. Local Pleasanton employers and companies such as the Pleasanton Fire Department, EMS and Methodist AirCare, Convenience Bank, Valero, and many others were on hand to talk about employment opportunities and services they offer to the community. Methodist AirCare flew to the Pleasanton campus in a helicopter, and the nurses/paramedics provided CBC nursing

students and event attendees with a close-up view of the interior workings of an emergency response helicopter. Several local high schools took students to the event to allow them to learn about courses they can take by attending college right down the road from where they go to high school. “The CBC Pleasanton faculty and staff want people to realize that we offer many affordable, quality programs to help launch their careers and education right here in their own backyard,” said Terry Villanueva, CBC Pleasanton Campus Coordinator. If you’d like more information about the Community Ties event or about any of the programs offered at the CBC Pleasanton campus, contact Terry Villanueva at (830) 5694222 ext. 1202.
