Tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons will play each other for third time this season. The last time these two teams squared off on Feb. 9, Ramon Sessions had a remarkable performance with 20 points, six rebounds, a game-high 12 assists and a career-high five steals, while J.J. Hickson added 18 points and 15 rebounds. However, the Pistons scored 24 points off the Cavs 17 turnovers and went on to win 103-94 at The Q. Cleveland has won seven of the last nine games versus Detroit but trails the all-time series 110-74. The Cavs averaged 13.4 offensive rebounds per game from Feb. 25 to March 16 (nine games), which ranked fourth in the league over that span. Cavs rookie Samardo Samuels has scored in double figures in each of his first seven games as a starter (from March 2-16) and averaged 14.0 points on .470 shooting and 7.3 rebounds in 29.9 minutes per game over that span. Samuels is currently second in the league in points per game among all undrafted rookies in the league, averaging 7.4 points per game (min. 25 games). The Cavs will continue their home stand on Sunday when the play the Atlanta Hawks. The Pistons are the NBA’s best team at taking care of the ball, as they are only averaging 12.7 turnovers per game. They also shoot .381 from behind the three-point line, which is the fourth-best in the league. Rodney Stuckey, who had 22 points against the Cavs on Feb. 9th, is averaging 14.8 points and 4.8 assists. The Cavs and Pistons will complete their four-game regular season series on April 11th at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
