— 2014 HBCU College Jump-Off Event The Virgil Hawkins Bar Association, Inc., and the Polk County Pan-Hellenic Council is hosting its 10th annual free college recruitment event for minority and other students interested in learning in a diverse, culturally rich environment. Florida’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) will each have 20-30 minutes on the program as well as “information stations” which allow recruiters small group time with prospective students. We anticipate a full morning of information, stimulation of HBCU college interest, and what we refer to as “slice of campus life” where we have a presentation from our Greek graduate chapters. College recruiters with admission and scholarship authority will be on site, so bring your ACT/SAT test scores!
