The Multipurpose Activity Center (MAC) is located in Mitch Park and contains the Parks and Recreation office and Senior Center. We offer recreational and cultural based classes and events for all ages. ARTS & CRAFTS Intro to Sewing You will have lots of fun learning how to sew, thread, operate a sewing machine, cut patterns and more! There will be a new project each session you get to make and take home. Ages: 18 & Up Min/Max: 2/6

Mosaic Cross – 2 night class Design and create your very own mosaic cross to hang. Cross is 18” tall and has a hole to hang it on the back. This 2 night class you will design and glue the first night and grout and clean the second night.

Paint Away – Register with a Friend This is a basic social painting class for people who think they can’t paint or never have. We will provide the basic layout of the painting and you will provide the color and creativity. All you need is an open mind to let the artist with in to come alive. Sew it Forward – Great Giving Project Make an activity mat for someone with Alzheimer’s. These easy–to–sew activity mats help soothe the agitated fidgeting of people with dementia, autism or Alzheimer’s. The mats help focus their attention, stimulate senses, exercise hand muscles and entertain users. Activity Mats are the size of a placemat and include pockets, zippers, buttons, strings of beads, bells, etc. They may also include a textured pocket with a soft toy or vinyl pocket for photos. This is a great volunteer opportunity and gift from the heart. Ages: 6 & Up Min/Max: 2/12

HOW TO RENT A PAVILION/ROOM The City of Edmond Parks and Recreation Department has pavilions and rooms available for rent for private functions. For more information on availability, pricing or to rent a pavilion or room, call the Parks and Recreation office at 359–4630 or visit us at the MAC building in Mitch Park.

Planning a special event? Any event that offers a public invitation that includes but is not limited to, runs/walks, car shows, comm– unity garage sales, parades, etc. must be approved by the Special Events Committee. Anyone interested in having a special event must contact Dorothy Nelson in the Parks and Recreation Office for an application form and information on how to apply. All forms must be completed and returned to the office 60 days prior to the requested event date.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY If you have registered for a class that was cancelled due to lack of enrollment, a credit will be placed on your account for a future class. This credit will expire 1 year from the date of the original class.

If a participant withdraws from a class less than 3 business days prior to the scheduled class date, a credit will be placed on their account. Credits will expire 1 year from the date of the original class.

If you have registered for a class that was cancelled by us due to other reasons, we will work to reschedule the class at a later date, keeping the same time and day of the week. If you are not able to attend the rescheduled class, a credit will be placed on your account for a future class. The credit will be available for 1 year from the date of the original class.

The above policy applies only to our fee–based recreation Programs and not to: KickingBird Tennis; Pelican Bay Aquatic Center; KickingBird Golf Club; Farmer’s Market; MAC or pavilion rentals, special events or Arcadia Lake.

If a participant withdraws from a class more than 3 days prior to the scheduled class date, the participant may request a refund or a credit to their account or a refund. Refund time will vary depending on form and date of original payment.

Stroller Strides – Mitch Park

Stroller Strides® is a total fitness program for moms with babies. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller, and the environment. Taught by certified and specifically trained instructors, it is a beneficial workout for all levels of exerciser. Stroller Strides® instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to their role as mothers. Scissortail Campground Scissortail Campground is located 1.5 Miles east of I–35 on 15th Street, with 141 acres. This park features a shower, pavilion, and regular hook–up camping.

KickingBird Golf Club

KickingBird Golf Club is the

City of Edmond’s only municipal golf course. Built in 1971, KickingBird is Edmond’s oldest golf course and is still well known for its traditional 18–hole championship layout. KickingBird Golf Club has hosted many professional and amateur championships. KickingBird hosted the Oklahoma Open from 1979–1985 and many of its storied champions include Danny Edwards, Dr. Gil Morgan, Doug Tewell, and Bob Tway. KickingBird is currently the permanent home site of the Oklahoma Golf Association’s Junior Boys and Girls Championships. Come experience great golf with a family friendly atmosphere. SNAG Junior Golf October 6-15 | Tues-Thurs | 5:30-6:30p.m. The SNAG system uses two clubs: a “Launcher” which is used to launch, pitch, and chip the ball and a “Roller” which is used to roll the ball (putt) to the hole. The SNAG ball is slightly smaller than a tennis ball and the SNAG clubs are oversized. SNAG is designed to introduce junior golfers to the fundamentals of full shots, pitching, chipping, and putting. Festival Market Place

The Festival Market Place is located on 2nd street one block west of Broadway in downtown Edmond. The Festival Market Place is home to the Edmond Farmer’s Market that runs from Mid–April through the end of October. For more information call 359–4630.

Amenities and Rates Festival Market Place is an outdoor special event venue and has been the home of the Edmond Farmer’s Market since 2004. The Festival Market Place is a great location for groups or individuals to hold fundraising events, family reunions, weddings and receptions, concerts, craft shows and more. It is a 63’ X 142’ open–air pavilion with water, electricity, ceiling fans, plaza area and public restrooms. It is available for rent except during the Farmer’s Market, some holidays** or other scheduled events. Below are the rental rates:
