celebration FREE to all families & ages

Join us for the 12th annual Winter Holiday Celebration at Blaine City Hall. There will be a variety of great activities for the whole family. Enjoy holiday entertainment, crafts, a coloring contest, live holiday music, refreshments and much more. All activities are free and run continuously throughout the evening. Santa will visit the event, but will not be available for individual visits or photographs. Volunteers needed. For more information or to volunteer, call 763-717-2723.

snow day FREE all ages welcome

The Anoka County Parks & Recreation Department, in collaboration with Lino Lakes and Blaine Park & Recreation Departments are thrilled to be offering the 14th annual Snow Day Event. Participants of all ages will have a chance to partake in a variety of winter activities, including: snow shoeing, ice fishing, kick-sledding, cross-country skiing, winter crafts, temporary tattoos, and Live Animal Presentation. Refreshments provided. For more information, call Wargo Nature Center at 651429-8007. Event will happen regardless of the weather! Event held at Wargo Nature Center. No registration required, just show up!

Art Show ages 12 to 19

Do you paint or sculpt? If so, we need your talents. Art created by area teens is wanted for the 8th Annual Teen Art Show and Contest at City Hall. One submission per artist is allowed, and art must be framed and ready to be hung. Categories are: Painting, Drawing, Pastel, Photography, Sculpture and Best of Show. The Blaine Arts Council will judge submissions; ribbons and prizes will be awarded on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:15 pm at Blaine City Hall. Art will be on display at Blaine City Hall in March as part of Children’s Art Month. Call 763-717-2723 with questions. Sponsored in part by the Blaine Arts Council. Submissions may be dropped off at Blaine City Hall from Feb. 18 through Feb. 21, from 8 am to 4:30 pm Artists must fill out a submission form, found at www.blaineparks.com or at the Park & Rec office.

Children’s

Art Workshop FREE to grades K - 5

The Blaine Arts Council is celebrating Children’s Art Month by inviting area youth to Blaine City Hall to create a masterpiece under the guidance of professional artists. Children will create an original work of art using provided supplies. Artwork will be displayed at City Hall in March for public viewing. There is no fee, but register by February 14 to reserve your space. Limited to 40 participants. Projects will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Parents must stay with their children.
