your week in the stars

With Joanne Madeline Moore October 11-17

ARIES (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

With three planets in your relationship zone, it’s time to focus on those around you. You’ll make powerful personal connections if you are less self-absorbed and more involved with others. Don’t take criticism too personally (especially on Thursday and Sunday). Fireworks and foot-stamping are out, and cool compromise is in!

TAURUS (Apr 21 – May 20)

You’re keen to get a romance moving in a positive new direction. But Venus is retrograde (until Nov 19) so you’ll have to make major concessions to get a relationship going – or to keep an established one on firm ground. A stubborn attitude will only slow things down. Ask yourself: “Am I being determined or just plain pig-headed?”

GEMINI (May 21 – June 21)

Geminis are the gadabouts of the zodiac – you’re always in such a rush. This week, slow down, and take the time to listen to those around you (particularly at work). Consultation and cooperation will get you a lot further than being slapdash. The Sun hooks up with Mercury on Sunday which favours friends, fun and fabulous conversation.

CANCER (June 22 – July 22)

As Saturn and the Sun move through your domestic zone, home is definitely where the heart is. Focus on ways you can bring more stability and sunshine into your home. Have some family relationships become ragged around the edges? Sunday’s stars give you the energy boost (and insight) you need to restore communication and sort out problems.

LEO (July 23 – Aug 22)

Lions can be a lazy lot, but rickety relationships will only improve if you get off your beautiful backside and get to work! Plus romance will blossom if you treat your partner (or potential partner) like a Prince or Princess. The Sun links up with Mercury on Sunday, when you’ll be in sparkling social form and at your conversational best.

VIRGO (Aug 23 – Sept 22)

Don’t confuse important issues with trivial ones. If you make mountains out of molehills, then you’ll end up feeling stressed and exhausted. You’re in the mood to talk this weekend – especially about money. If your finances are in a mess, take the time to discuss your options with a professional. Study and travel are highlighted on Sunday.

LIBRA (Sept 23 – Oct 23)

One of your endearing qualities is that you look for the best in everyone. True friends bring love and lucky opportunities into your life, whereas fair-weather friends will just take advantage of your sweet nature and lead you up the primrose path to trouble. Between now and November 19, you need to be discerning – and learn to say no!

SCORPIO (Oct 24 – Nov 21)

Don’t blame others if your goals and dreams aren’t progressing according to plan. Perhaps you are the saboteur Scorpio? Look within to discover how old belief systems (and ineffective communication) are holding you back. With three planets in harmonious Libra, it’s time to bring more balance and relaxation into your hectic life.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You’re full of enthusiasm but don’t overdo it. Talk is cheap. Make sure you back up your bright ideas with plenty of productive action. It’s time to walk your talk! Friday is your dream day of the week, as fabulous Moon/Jupiter aspects send good times and lucky opportunities in your direction. On Sunday, the power of the group is on your side.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Is your self confidence being affected by problems with an authority figure or work colleague? Honest communication will smooth over difficulties, but you’ll have to be the one to swallow your pride and initiate peace talks. Be inspired by birthday great Eleanor Roosevelt: “No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

AQUARIUS (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Focus on your Aquarian aspirations for the future. Impossible dreams can come true with plenty of passion, planning and persistence, so start making your wish list ASAP. Avoid the urge to splurge (especially mid-week). A little retail therapy is fine, as long as you can afford it. If funds are low, then find ways to have fun at home – for free.

PISCES (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Intimate relationships are highlighted however, if you don’t improve your communication skills, then passion will be replaced with problems. Sunday is the best day to talk things through and get to the bottom of unresolved issues. Singles – you’re in the mood for love but you need to take the lead.
