Bulldog “Belief, Faith, Trust” Style Over the past 17 seasons, head coach Fred Jordan has seen his Bulldogs win seven SoCon titles and advance to the NCAA Regionals six times. A former Bulldog pitcher, Jordan has established the Bulldogs as one of the hardest working and most consistent teams in the country.

Hard work is what “Bulldog Style” is all about. With talent that can compete at any level, Jordan instills the words “Belief, Faith, Trust” into his players and by the time spring training rolls around, they are not just words, but a way of life on and off the diamond.

Jordan’s players never leave the field with a clean uniform or without dirt on their faces. Many around the Southern Conference point to this as the reason the Bulldogs have been so successful since Jordan took the reigns in 1992.

Jordan’s pitching staffs have won eight conference ERA titles during his tenure. Jordan is not only a pitching guru, but his teams have produced superior hitting numbers and play exceptional defense as well. During his tenure, Bulldog players have hit over .300 for a season on 97 different occasions while 24 have stolen over 20 bases in a single season. During his 17 seasons, The Citadel record books have been rewritten and the majority of the offensive records are held by hitters under his tutelage. Jordan’s clubs regularly lead the conference in fielding percentage, including in 2004 when the Bulldogs set a new single-season record with a .974 mark.
