From a club perspective, we recognize that the change starts with us – the staff and players. In 2013, our players and coaches made nearly 400 appearances around Chicago. The team went above and beyond to make a difference, including defender Gonzalo Segares, who was recognized by Chicago Magazine and Ketel One Vodka in their Modern Hispanic Gentleman series for his work with the Chicago Fire Foundation. He also served as an official spokesman for the Chicago Department of Public Health advocating for the flu shot. We were extremely proud to announce our new partnership with City Year Chicago. City Year is an education-focused organization that combats the nation’s dropout epidemic by uniting young people of all backgrounds for a full year of full-time service in high-need schools. As a sponsor of Carl Schurz High School we are helping City Year address the high school dropout crisis in our city by providing students with the extra care and attention they need to graduate.
