These photos are used to promote programs and events and are at times used on CCC bulletin boards or the website. It is CCC policy to not include children’s names on photographs on the CCC website. CCC is requesting your permission and consent to use photographs of your child(ren) alone or in group settings, in CCC materials. SUNDAY SCHOOL COVENANT As a community in Christ we build our programs around the promise to be in relationship with one another. We ask our teachers, parents and children to commit to this covenant as part of CCC’s Sunday school program. Please review the covenant and share it with your child(ren). We understand that some of our Sunday School children are too young to fully understand this covenant, but we ask parents and guardians to spend some time explaining the expectations of Sunday School to your children in a way they can understand, knowing through the year they will continue to learn what it means to be a part of the Sunday School at CCC. Because God calls us to be a community of faith in Christ’s church, I covenant with God and others to conduct our life together at Christ Congregational Church in a manner that promotes a positive community of faith. As a child in Sunday School • I will participate in activities, working together to learn and grow from my Sunday School experience. • I will be open to new ideas and experiences and to trying new things. • I will treat all people with dignity and respect. • I will listen when other people are talking. • I will respect the personal space and property of others. • I will use the classroom, toys and supplies made available to us with care. If I accidentally damage any property, I will take responsibility for the damage done and inform my teacher right away. • I will wait in my classroom when Sunday school ends until my parents meet me. As parent or guardian of a Sunday Schooler… • I will encourage my child(ren) to participate in Sunday School, learning and growing in God and community by bringing them to church. • I will encourage my child(ren) by asking about the activities and projects from their classes. • I will support Sunday program by volunteering my time to teach, provide supplies or snacks, participate in classroom preparation prior to each unit, shepherd during communion worship and/or offer feedback to the CE board and staff about the programs. • I will meet my child(ren) in their classroom after worship and Sunday School. We ask our teachers, parents and youth to commit to this covenant as part of CCC’s Youth Group program. Each youth participant needs to submit a signed covenant. Because God calls us to be a community of faith and leaders in Christ’s church, I covenant with God and others to conduct our life together at Christ Congregational Church in a manner that promotes a positive community of faith.
As a member of CCC Youth Group… • I will attend Youth Group (YG) as often as possible to be a full participant in the community. • When present at YG I will participate in activities, working together to learn and grow. • I will be open to new ideas and experiences and to trying new things. • I will listen to my peers and youth leaders when they are speaking. • I will treat all people with dignity and respect. • I will respect the property of others. • I will use the facilities made available to us with care. If I accidentally damage property, I will take responsibility for the damage done and inform a YG leader right away. • I will not smoke. • I will not bring or use alcohol and/or illicit drugs, realizing that such behavior is destructive to the Christian community and would result in my immediate dismissal. Prescribed drugs must be left with our YG leader and will not be abused. • I will adhere to OWL values while at YG. As parent or guardian of a Youth… • I will encourage my youth to participate in Sunday School, learning and growing in God and community by bringing them to church. • I will encourage my youth by asking about the activities and projects. • I will support Youth Group program by volunteering my time to lead activities, provide dinner when it is my turn, be a driver for offsite activities and/or offer feedback to the CE board and staff about the programs.
