Punctuation characters lose their special meaning when within these brackets, so you can write things like D[.$S]* al Coda  \xNN matches the hexadecimal character NN  (x)|(y) are exclusive choice operators, where the string must match either x or y. Copying playback dictionary entries to other scores

Once you’ve edited entries in the playback dictionary, you can transfer your updated dictionary into other scores. Simply export the house style from the score in which you edited the dictionary, then import it into the new score –  8.8 House Style™ for more details – or save your score as a manuscript paper –  2.23 Manuscript paper.
