DEPARTMENT PROFILE : TELESALES Another of our departments that many of you will be familiar with (perhaps even on a firstname basis) is the Telesales department. They are available to speak to from 8:30am until midnight on weekdays, Saturdays until 3pm and Sundays from approximately 7pm until midnight. We have recently recruited a new Telesales Operator, and so the department currently comprises of 13 members of staff. Telesales answer an average of 1800 calls per week and process hundreds of orders a day which are left on the voicemail system. Some customers choose to place their order via email or fax, and these too are handled by Telesales.

NATIONAL VEGETARIAN WEEK This month brings National Vegetarian Week from 18th-24th May. This month we have a fantastic special offer on McDougall’s vegetarian jelly crystals in a range of flavours – see page 29 for details. We also stock a new range of pates which includes two vegetarian options - Stilton and Pear Pate and Spinach and Nutmeg Pate, on offer on page 17. The nature of this industry means that there are obvious peak times for placing orders, 8.30pm to 10.30pm being our busiest. Outside of these peak times, the Telesales staff will still be busy assisting customers with general enquiries or calling customers to take orders or to advise them of any special offers. According to the Telesales Operators, the part of the work they derive the most satisfaction from is getting to know our customers (many of whom they speak to daily) and helping to answer any queries.
